its 276 now; so Id hope in their quest for 13 extra hp they dont lose 16 torque. Id guess 180-185; thats speculation.

Im a bit peeved personally that nissan would bump all the G35coupes and only the track Z.

I understand why only the track Z; Im sure the distrobution hasnt favored it since it is a bit pricey for what you get; nothing that you cant add even better aftermarket. but G35 gets it? thats odd. Im sure the G35coupe already outsells the Z. quick poll of your average car forum and youll find almost all favor the G35coupes appearance and back seat.

As much as the Z has always been more performance oriented, do you think that Nissan is positioning the G35 coupe to move into that spot in anticipation of the coming of the Skyline GT in 2007?

Even with the extra HP Z is still faster than the G. Plus it's not all about straightline power. If you want that, buy a Rustang.

No offense to Mustang guys of course, your cars are BEASTS at 1/4 miles. Just dogs on the track.

btw...

only the G35c6MT gets the bumped power.

Dont worry about the loss in torque. The new motor revs highs (she kicks high!) and will prolly be much faster than the numbers indicate.

Looking at our dyno, our torque indeed drops off after 4200rpms pretty sharply. If they had 260tq@4800rpms and then kept it at 250+ until redlime... BEAST!

Sidenote is that the M3 has 333hp and 262tq. The torque is lower but the car can skool us. Because it has more usable torque to it's 7900 REDLINE!

I talked with my contact an Nissan Competition to find out what parts were installed in the 300hp motor vs 287 and was told by him that all of the difference is in the ECU.

13 hp over the current model is really negligible. I would think a weight savings somewhere would have to be done see a difference. Oh and the G35 needs the power to make up for the extra seats and what not
