I finally have the means to get a Z car. Been waiting since the release date to pick one of these up and now it's time. I am pricing around in the winter and getting a price, ordering, and picking up in April/May. Now I had orignally planned to grab a touring model. But I keep hearing from Touring owners that it is not worth it and that I should just get an Enthusiast Model and add in the differences aftermarket and will be much better off.
The question I have for you guys is what is EVERY big, small, minute, difference in these two models? I am talking all the way down to the placement of the speakers.
I built an Enthusiast car and a Touring car with about a $6,000 difference in pricing. I compared the two lists of standard options and the only differnce I saw was that the touring has leather, power seats, and heated seats. What else is different? Are the wheels both 18s(6-spd), both have wheel sensors, both have TCL and VDC(i think that is what it is called lol)?
The difference in the stereo...does the 160-watt one just lack the sub? Or are all the speakers different? Is the placement any different. Is the sub "position" open on the enthusiast model for you to put something in there?
Also, I plan on putting a Kenwood DDX-7015 deck in there and it has an option NAVI attatchment, how is this compared to the stock one? Because the MAIN reason I want a Touring is leather and NAVI.
For those of you that have put leather in their 350...how does it compare to stock leathe as far as look. Usually when I see aftermarket leather on a car is has that "loose" look to it.
Thanks in advance for anyone helping with these questions.

I bought the Performance model because I didn't see where the extra expense for the heated power leather seats and the Bose system (that sucks) was worth the extra money.
It would have been nice to have a power seat but I settled with aftermarket leather from http://www.classicsofttrim.com
Classic Soft Trim is the official aftermarket provider for Nissan. When you tell a dealer you want leather added to a car that's who does it. Mine looks just like stock. It's tight, the colors match the interior trim perfectly, has a 3yr warranty. Plus it only cost $650-$700, the dealer wanted $895 to add it on.

I plan on doing EXTENSIVE mods. I just figured this would be a way to get this stuff out of the way from the start.
Performanec and Touring...only difference in leather and navi?

Well I think I might go peformance then. The leather wouldn't be that bad. And I could get the NAVI option for an extra $500 on the kenwood ddx-7015 deck. and then I basically have a touring for 3,000 less and smaller payments.

Yeah but then add the extra amount your paying per month on your credit card.
If your gonna say paying cash, then you could use the cash as a down payment to lower your car payments.

I am putting about $15,000 down on the car. Then rest will be financed. So my payments won't be much. After that car is purchased though, the rest of my time and money heads to the garage. ![Big Grin](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I never use the credit card for mods. I see bad things happening if I did that lol. "I have enough to pay off my card now...but that exhaust sure does sound nice." Then I will end up buying that and keeping a balance lol.

Hi FD, I put down about that much also, for the lower payments. The advice to but a touring if you don't want to spend $ on mods? I have a 350ZTR and it's sure hard to browse the Z sites and not want to add everything....Long story short.....touring or not, plan on spending bucks in the aftermarket world....Good luck, Dave
