STI; by about a second or so. lol.

the 300hp Z is like a Z with an intake and exhaust at best. its not a huge increase; Id say 13.9sec average vs the regular Z 14.1ish average.

the STI has AWD that will simply demolish the Z and hold its speed advantage through the race to keep pulling.

try a track and things will end up differently; or even roll.

by different I mean a close race; you could still lose in the Z. the STI is no slouch; its not like the Z has a weight advantage. all it has is less understeer and drive train loss.

Sad to say but the STi would destroy the Z in pretty much any scenario.

Put slicks on a Z to equalize for traction and its very close race in the 1/4. Look at what a lot of people ACTUALLY get out in the wild with the STI and its 13.4-14.4. I just did this recently because of a thread that said the STI will destroy a Z from a roll. STI's don't trap a whole lot higher. Not far off from ours. You have to be willing to dump the clutch at 4k plus to get a good time with an STI.

I'm sure at highway speeds the race will be at least even if not with the Z pulling on the STi. Stop is another story. Handling, I hear the Z handles better than the 04 and older STi's, but I think the new '05's have some upgraded handling goodies.

I'd love to see any proof of this, because I can show you hundreds of articles and statistics that show that the STi will hand the Z its butt in every performance category.

when you buy a Z you're lookling for lot of style and a lot of substnace.

when you buy a STi you're looking for way more substance not even 10% of the Style.

Since the cars are often compared to eachother, it's hard for people to see what's been pointed out about the FI vs. NA discrepancy.

As an aside, since you have to plop down a load of cash for either. Sacrificing a little speed for 10x as much style isn't all that bad.

im not sure, the track z isnt just an update intake and exhaust, it has new cams and valve timing (am i right?) 300hp might be a lil underated or better yet the power band may just get much better so that our power doesnt die off right below redline. It all depends on how much actual hp the track z will dyno at and where the power is. Plus i heard something about even lighter rims? cany anyone second that?

this post isnt about which car looks better or whose styling is better. it was about who's faster so lets not bust the beamer attitude and diss the suburu to get around the fact that its much faster.

yeah; this thread looks like what youd see on a porsche forum for boxster vs 350Z. I could totally see them saying "yeah the Z's faster but Id still rather drive a porsche". but for some reason; we arent all loving the porsche even though that the next logical step in this arguement

That just means you're better than the STi drivers you're beating. I ran rings around a 360 Modena at Infineon in September, but does that mean that the Z is superior to the Modena? Heck no, I was just a way better driver than him.
