Default getting pissed at confusion on winter

Ok, Why is it so hard to get an answer. On freshalloy.com, the G35C guys are saying that Infiniti says that there will be a Blizzak LM22 available in November. I called Bridgestone and they say they have not heard anything about that. Then I call Nissan and they say, Yes, we are working with Bridgestone to get a winter tire out very soon. So what the hell is up? Anyone have any contacts at Nissan or Bridgestone that can get an honest answer? I currently have pirelli's on order, but the bridgestones will be cheaper and the exact size up front (rather then 235/40/18)
Pleading for some replies .
Thanks

Anyone? Anyone?
Should I just go with the Pirelli 235/45/18 front and 245/45/18 rear or wait for these imaginary 245/45/18 Blizzaks and risk the Pirellis being sold out?

Chill out. Obviously the guy is fishing for info from all sources. He is actually looking for winter tires for his Z.

Thanks fatZo:
Yes, the tires will be for my Z. Just thought I would check what the G35C guys are going to do since they have the same size tires.

if you find out, please let me know as well.
I doubt that I'll be doing much winter driving this year, but I noticed that when the tires are cold, they don't adhere well to the asphalt.

Hey BobbyZ,

how much and where did you order your Pirellis? I seriously hope that Bridgestone come out with the "Right" size winter tires soon, it's getting kind of cold already and my tail is starting to "drift" when I'm cornering a little bit harder.

I was going to order, but then decided to wait and see what all options were. The tires will run around 1700-1800 depending on the shop. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. I'm just pissed that the correct size, in a cheaper tire will be put next year. So is the concensus that the Pirellis will be OK?

I was freaking out this morning when I woke up and saw snow out the window, good thing was that it wasn't that big of a snow storm. I did check a couple of tire places today before I went to work. BobbyZ, the price you quoted is very high, I think you are getting ripped off. I priced out the Pirellis and they were $340 each. I also went to Nissan parts, and they told me the best solution would be to go with what you suggested with the Pirellis, 235/45 at the front and 245/45 at the rear. However, I think I'm going to go with Blizzak 225/45 all the way round. Reason for this is that at least two of the tires are the same as stock, and the rears will have less rubber contacting the road thus giving it better traction(I think I read that on this forum). The guy I was talking to said that if they don't have the tires out by now, it won't be coming this year, which I do have to agree. BTW, the way I figure it is that by next year, Bridgestone for sure will have the 245/45 for the winter, and all I have to do is buy two of them and sell the two 225/45 to a new 350Z owner! Problem solved. Just for your info, the LM-22 225/45/R18s go for $270+tax each. I'll be ordering Monday unless someone can tell me that this is not a good idea!

I've put Pirelli Winter Snow Sports on my G35C, 225/40/18 for the fronts and 245/45/18 for the rears. These are V rated snow tires. The Bridgestone Blizzaks won't be coming out with the correct size until winter of 2003. So far these tires have been great. Have to be careful of speed bumps and curbs as the front is now a bit lower than stock and its pretty easy to scrape the front spoiler.

I’m going with the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 225/45-18 all around. I asked my dealer if they had a problem with the rear height difference and they said no.

No problem for them = no problem for me.

I have a good contact in the tire business so I ordered them in September. He received them 4 days later and will sell them to me for about $237.00 each. He tells me they are in short supply so if you guys go this route you better order soon.

I will probably only have them installed in early December unless we get too many days like today.

This is what it’s like in QC this morning.

I take it some of you guys up in Canada will be using your Z's all year? I live in Pennsylvania and Z-Day for me is mid-Dec, but I am nervous about the Z in the snow/cold weather (my only car). Do you think a good set of snow tires is all I will need? Thanks
