Talking Well it's finally happened

I got it.

After a year and a half of lurking on this board and others, reading all the reviews, test driving at various dealerships and drooling over the number of available mods, I picked up a '03 6-speed redline touring a few days ago. I wasn't sure I was going to keep it until it was inspected. I had inspected yesterday and the deal was sealed when the MD inspector asked me if I wanted to sell it . He said most of the Z's off the truck aren't as clean as my new baby.

Just wondering what are the best things to do as far as maintenance, basic inexpensive mod's, etc. Since I'm new to the Z, I wanted to come to the source for recommendations and answers.

Here are a few questions.

* Are there any service bulletins that I need to check on (feathering, manual trans. fixes, etc.)
*Best radar detector location?
*With 12k on it is it to soon to run synthetic?
*What else should I look for or check regularly?

Looking forward to becoming part of the crew.

--Radar Detector:
Below the rearview mirror (I know there are some people on this board that make custom attachments for the mirror, they are pretty cool)

---What else should I look for or check regularly?:

The grin on your face.......it is permanent.

Not too early for synthetic. I think I started using synthetic around 10k, but i'm pretty sure a lot of people started earlier.

Some say that the motor should be broken in with standard oil. That period of time and number of miles seems to vary. I've been using Mobile1 since new.

No TSB will solve it.
