Angry Has anyone else had this happen?

Last month (October) I made a deal with a dealer about 90 miles from my home to order a 2005 Touring Redline ZR. This was by far the best deal I could find anywhere is South Florida. The dealer told me that he was allowed to order only two roadsters a month and mine was going to be #1. On the day he was to order the car, I e-mailed him to confirm that the car had been ordered. He called me to tell me that the car could not be ordered until 4pm Pacific time (7 pm EDT) and would be ordered in about an hour.

It is now almost a month latter and I had not heard from the dealer for some time. Last Sunday I e-mail him to get the car’s build date. When I did not receive any response to my e-mail I called on Wednesday, Thursday and finally today (Friday) I got though. He told me that my order, last month, was “rejected” by Nissan and the car is NOT on order!

Now the dealer wants to locate a car for me. I am not sure that it is a good idea and told him I would only accept a car with 30 miles or less on it. I am wondering if he is trying to get out of the deal. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Sounds really fishy to me...why would Nisssan reject an order if it's completely within the parameters of what Nissan makes available? Methinks the dealer had a brain cramp, forgot to order the car, and is telling you this to cover his @ss.

I agree. But now I am not be able to get the car unless I am willing to pony up some more cash! I really wanted a fresh, just off the boat car.

my best advice is to be patient, and find another dealer to match the price. Get a written invoice or form stating their price.

screw that dealer
