Well it would be nice to know when it's really coming so I can sell my current car. If I knew it was coming August 1st, I would start selling my car now but if it's not until Sept 1st then I would be carless for a long time and I hate sharing with my wife even though her I35 isn't bad!!

Yeah, I just drive the I35 backwards and pretend it's the new rear engined, rear wheel drive, and rear wheel steering Z!!!

If, and I say IF, the cars are really rolling and those cars are destined for the US...then I'm damn glad I wasn't on the pre-order...

I hope it's bad info...not to taint anything or for ANY reason to make you guys wait, but there's stuff to be fixed and changed yet The Z32 was relatively good when it came to first year problems...though the automatic trannies needed an external cooler to not blow up! I wish I could say more

Damnit, sucks waiting until the weeks beginning to find out on my side.

Seedyrom,

I think it's wrong for you to make a statement like that. It's one thing to speculate about whether or not the car's in production (based on what your "sources" tell you), but it's another to state that our cars are going to be manufactured with known flaws. So far I've yet to see you back up your claims with anything more than "I wish I could tell you more". I have reason to believe that your "sources" may not be all you make them out to be...that's based on info from one of my sources. I wish I could say more...

I do not want to start a flame war with you, but I feel the need to express my opinion to the others in this forum. I highly doubt Nissan will knowingly build new Zs for us that they know are defective. Just my opinion...

I can completely understand where you're coming from. Though I must admit I'm not some Joe Blow from out of the woodwork...I have a long past with accurate 350Z information both in print and online...you can view that as you may. That out of the way, let me clarify. The point of my post was more to express shock than anything else...shock that it's in production (again, if true). And despite my many claims of things being fixed, it's not solely because of that...but because of contrary information that I've received from multiple sources combined with other factors about what cars get made first and for who. Combined together it makes no sense. Even so, I don't make the statement that it's wrong...hell, weird things happen!

Now, to call them "flaws" would be a shame...I have never called them that and I'm not trying to put down Nissan in any way. REST ASSURED that if they are indeed building this car for the NA market it's because they feel it's ready. What I have said in MANY posts is that there will be changes later on if they are producing now...I can almost guarantee it. Is that something new? Heck no...are the changes major? Not from what I've seen so far but I'm not privvy to every gory detail...that goes back to Nissan not releasing a "flawed" car, they wouldn't (at least not knowingly).
When I buy a car I want it to be perfect and I'm NEVER in any rush to run out there and buy the first year car...I'm not a collector either. So I'm from the school of "let them work out the bugs first" and hence my own personal feelings. Hope that's a little more clear

Cliffnotes: Personally, I'm glad I'm waiting. Is this a problem for anyone if it's being made now? Nope. Will consumers be happy in the end, surely!

I am generally in the "don't but first year" school as well. When I bought a Z32, I waited for the second production year. I just couldn't wait this time.

I have a feeling that they should get it pretty right the first time, as it's their image leader here (for the time being) and it's shared platform and engine have already been worked through pretty well. Not that it will be perfect...just close!

Exactly. I mean, the major things (read: Engine, etc) are pretty much tried and true. So there's nothing worrisome about it thankfully

Now...if your engine falls out of your car in the first year, don't blame me j/k!

Don't need details, would just like to resolve the conflicting posts about whether or not USA production has started. If I put everything I've read from this board and others together, I'm guessing that USA production begins early July. Don't know when that would put the first production cars here but I'd guess late August to early September.

I'm only asking this because so much has already been posted about it by people with contacts.

Yes. Knowing the estimated month of delivery in advance will help those of us who are trying to block out a little vacation around the time of car's delivery.

JmanZ, thanks for the update. One last question. Do you think that the information in question about when USA production starts (or started) and the approximate delivery time of the first USA cars will be revealed on July 3rd or will we have to wait longer for that info?
