I took my Z to a car wash today. (Gasp! Send out the villagers with torches to kill him!) It's a big place with lots of workers called Lozano's, and it is totally brushless -- all soft cloths. They do a great job, inside and out. My paint is not scratched. I thought I was obsessive about my car (at least my wife thinks so), but some of you guys need to relax a little. It's not the end of the world to go to a good car wash.

A little level-setting...

In Colorado, we too have car washes . Typically, you pull inside the car wash, and stop and a little bump in the concrete floor. Then, a machine on a track runs by your car. It NEVER makes direct contact with your car and you are ALWAYS inside the car.

I like these,

That is the kind i use when i drive on the salted roads in the winter. Forgot to turn off the steros off and got my attena ripped right off. I will never make that 200.00 lesson again.

One thing you have to watch out for is your rims, Alot of my friends that use to use car washes, got their rims 17" and over destroyed by the tracking system that uses the wheel that goes along the metal track. It totally destroyed their rims, and the car wash would not take care of the damage either. Just something to watch out for.

Default Very good response on the carwash issue

I agree with you. I took my car to Hutch's Car Wash in San Leandro on yesterday, and they did an excellent job...with machines.

We should not be in the business of bashing all car washes.

Good luck with you Z car and your car wash.
