Default Unstable at high speeds?

Seriously considering buying the car next month. However, i just saw this at another forum. Is this for real?

beware of teh 350z' aero...it is unstable at very high speeds...so if you like to drive at 200km/h in the middle of the night, as enough people do, be causious that the 350 is not rated for high speeds. Nissan even produced a few(3 i tink) long version 350's, so they could be used for racing in Japan.

When I'm driving at 60 feels like I'm doing 40, When I'm driving 110, feels like I'm doing 90, this car is more then stable.

But remember this is a sports car, It won't be quiet as a Benz and the suspension is harder than Luxury cars. If you don't like rough suspension this isn't the car for you. Good luck on your purchase though!

The faster the Z runs the more it hugs the road.

Response above is BS.

How can it not be rated for high speeds, its a sports car!? I seen people in dodge caravans hauling *** over me and they sure as hell are'nt rated either!

^ Right...the faster you go the more downforce there is pushing you against the pavement.

The Z feels incredibly stable, the faster I went the more I felt the car sticking to the road.

actually, a stock Z with aeropackage is 0lift, which I take to mean 0 downforce. cars by default are giant airfoils, they create lift. only way to reduce this is to elimate the high pressure under the car, meaning, dont let air under the car.

even so, most cars have positive lift at speeds, the Z has none. which is good. Ive taken it up to 130mph on a very very bad road, looking back it was stupid, it was a country road at night; it was horrible, but the Z didnt have any problems, never got squirrely or anything. Im sure on a flat road it would be even better. what forum was that person on? Im curious. unless it was an enzo, I cant think of any cars that dont have lift to their aerodynamics.

The chin spoiler that comes in the aero package is actually meant to disturb (and to an extent, reduce) the amount of airflow under the car. Turbulent air does not create effective positive pressure like streamlined air does.

The only instability that this car would experience would be due to the almost non-existent toe-in.

I have the track package and the car feels stable at high speeds (120mph +). However, the stiff suspension of my car tends to make the car bounce at high speeds and on rough roads, making me loose some confidence and feeling of control. On smooth roads the car feels quite good at high speeds. I suspect that the other Z versions besides the track may be better in this regard due to softer suspension. Also, the car seems to loose it's steam after 135mph or so.

I have driven other cars with stiff suspension (ferrari and lamborghini) on the same roads and I don't feel the car bouncing at all despite their suspension are quite stiff as well. Needless to say the lamborghini (murcielago) is designed for very high speeds.

Just a correction for you...All trim levels of the 350Z have identical suspension configurations. The only thing different between the Track and the models with 17" wheels is that the track will have less "sidewall bounce" than the others. Spring and damping rates are all identical though.

Ive been at 100-122mph for approx 20 miles last weekend.
Super stable (in an area that makes it almost impossible for cops to hide, for you cuz the a big ditch or sheep rock wall both sides)

Fred..

Are you talking about I-64? There are definetly some spots like that between Louisville and Lexington, but cops LOVE to hide in the ditch near Frankfort. As for me, I don't drive like that.

Maybe if you cut the wing off a WRX STi and stick it on the back of the Z it will handle better. It'll definitely look better too.
