Thank you Nissan for giving me the opportunity to own a world-class sports car for less than $30,000. (Where else would it have been possible to buy a 150+ mph vehicle that takes curves as flat as a manhole cover for so little.) Thank you for putting the same engine in all 5 models at no extra cost. I can live with the plastic interior, the grease stains on the windows, the confusing window/door contols, and even the moving dash that restricts my view of the speedometer in the fully lowered position. Thank you for anticipating my problem and putting a second speedometer in the guages. Thank you for a dealer who found me an Enthusiast in the color and transmission I wanted in the middle of a dock strike on the west coast.

I've been meaning to tell you this for the past 23 months, but just never seemed to get around to it.

I'm not arguing anything - seems to me like you can't keep your mouth shut though so I guess I will continue your childlike game. Does not matter if I own a Z or not. If you don't like what I have to say STOP READING the post!!!!

Damn! This entire thread reminds me of those posts where some kid from the Civic forum or Scion forum comes on and says: " Hey I raced your XXXX vehicle and I beat it you guys all suck!" Blah, blah, blah.

It would be interesting to see how reliable the C6 will be and how the dealer treatment will be in the future. I actually would not mind if the both of them continue to post here, if they were to give honest assessment of their C6 experience to come. It might turn out that they decide that their C6 and dealer experience is crap and decide to come back to the Z. Then we can all be a big happy family drunk on egg nog.

Mvirgin: Don't waste your time with the idiot kids like DavesZ on the forum with nothing better to do then trash talk. They wouldn't dream of doing it in real life so they do it on an internet forum. People posting their thoughts and experiences with Nissan are welcome. That includes both positive and negative.

I recently bought a 04.5 350z back in May and I'm already noticing more road noise with only 5000 miles. If I have the same negative experiences with Nissan dealerships I'm also going to get rid of my Z as well. I will also never buy another Nissan again. The main reason I bought the Z in the first place was because of the price compared to it's competitors. If I have to pay for new tires every 8k or so miles it defeats the purpose. I guess the "you get what you pay for," saying works in this case.

Good luck with the new car. I think the new vette's look great.

reelmccoy and mvirgin.. please come back and let us know how the C6 compares to the Z in the long run.
As for me, I don't think I could EVER live with an american designed interior. Build quality is one thing, design is another. I just feel pity looking at the interior designs in american cars. That's just me I guess.

I've owned many Vettes and recently drove the C6. Nice car, plenty of power, but I think I'd throw an APS TT in my Z rather than spend the cash on the new Vette. Styling is a bit funky (flat a$$.....nothing sexy about a flat a$$) and derived. Quality is on a par with the Z, but overall, nothing worth switching for.

Maybe I'm just bored with mid level sports cars, but even the 911, with it's ridiculously dated short wheelbase, needs a healthy dose of "new direction."

Getting back to the original post... Actually, I have the exact opposite experience. My Nissan dealer in the Bay Area was an awesome buying experience, and this is the third time I've bought a car. In my first week of ownership, they picked up my car at work, dropped off a nice loaner car, just to install my exhaust and rims and teflon. They gave it a fine detailing, too. Today, 8 weeks after my purchase, they went out of their way to fix my TPMS. The tire shop forgot to swap the TPMS transmitters from the stock rims to the Nismo rims; they found the old rims (I haven't picked them up yet) and swapped them with no hassle and a lot of apology and speed.

I think it's a good idea to go straight to big guy in the sales office when you have an issue, instead of going straight to the dealership service garage. Let the sales office take care of you. This morning I went straight to the dealership service garage and had to make an appointment for tomorrow; that would have proven to be a big waste of time. My dealer took care of me today so I have to give props. I have a good feeling that they will take care of me whenever I have warranty issues. Just my experience...

You are missing the point, it is not the dealership we were having problems with. They treated us good. It is Nissan themselves that were the problem. The dealership can only do what Nissan will allow them to do with warranty issues.

My hunch is the original poster is a troll and not to well informed. For example, he talks about having to buy new tires at 8,000 miles; however, Nissan has been replacing feathered tires for several months now at no charge to the customer. Being in the business I am suprised he wasn't aware of that.

My hunch is you don't read very well. We have already had the tires replaced at no charge - and the rims they managed to damage. If you read all the posts you might be better informed. Also if you knew anything about it you would know that after 21k they are no longer replacing them free of charge but giving you a discount. My car was at 20,813 miles so would I have gotten another set free? Probably - but that's not the point either - did I really want to have my car at the dealer every 6 months? NO We are well informed and not confused about the fact that Nissan is not going to fix the problem. That is my issue with them. That is why I had to say goodbye to my Z. Nissan is well aware of the problem by now and still producing cars with the same problems. Not very smart on their part if you ask me. They would have done better to inform their customers of the problem, stop production and find the fix.

The Z might have it's share of problems but it's no different than any other high performance vehicle. If you didn't visit sites like this and read up on ALL of the service bulletins, you probably wouldn't think so poorly of the car.

I don't see myself ever buying an american sports car.

I wouldn't underestimate most of the people on this board. I can afford any car I want, and I'm sure I'm not alone. I chose the Z because I like it, and eventually I'll move on to something else. I chose not to purchase a new Vette because I don't like it enough. Jealousy has nothing to do with it. Grow up and quit assuming things about people you don't even know just because it fits your simple minded scenario.

Hmmm, let's see. . . . .do a stop sell on one of the hottest selling sports cars in recent memory because tires are feathering or offer a TSB to address the concern and move on to millions in profit? Geee I don't know, capitalism or socialism, ah forget it, comrades let us stop selling the Z and offer everyone a coal powered Yugo. Workers of the world unite!!! We will beat those capitalist pigs! Yuri go get the ox and cart, tonight we celebrate our victory over the Americans. Free cheese for everyone!!!

They gave us free tires once, now at 8k later they are doing it again, I never said I bought the first set.
