Default Future engines for the Z?

So what do you guys see in the future for the Z? Do you think it will ever have a v8, what do you think nissan will do after the 3.7, i mean how big can you go with a v6 before going to a v8.... be nice if they did like bmw and put in some turbos. I just wonder because so many car companies jump like half a liter with every new gen, but nissan went with .2 more, just wonder where it will go after 3.7. Gonna be crazy to see the size of engines in another 10 years, better yet, the power they put out.

New M3's have a V8, but performance minded people are still gonna keep scooping up 335's b/c of the twin turbo's. M3 is now gonna just be status.

it could be an engine with the same power but with a better mpg. I think this will be the future.

I hope so. I think the 300 hp is plenty enough, so making a V8 TT would be overkill for a $30k Z car.

I disagree. The M3 will have a much better chassis because BMW reinforces the mounting points. It almost always has some improvement in suspension architecture, has wider bodywork to fit larger tires, and has LSD (a good one) stock, where adding one to the 335 will be much ... much .. more money. And not to mention I'd rather have high revving V8 power than a laggy TT I6 powerband. The track advantage will be incredible, the drag strip however, I'll bet the 335 wins.

Well I just read a mag I picked up stating there will be a 400Z. Using a slightly longer wheel base not shorter like was stated here before. And using a Small Block V8. I can scan the article if anyone doesnt believe.

Its not that people don't believe the articles. Its that half the crap from mag articles is fabricated. There were so many cars that never came to be that were talked about in magazines.

I've read before, and agree with the sentiment that companies leak information to magazines, judge public reactions to said magazines, and use that for design input. Of course, its obvious companies like Pontiac didn't do that with cars like the Aztec
