Obviously I am not the only one that is tired of you. And per what I have read, your parents helped you out in the past on another forum out of a major financial situation...laugh.

Other than 0-60 times, the Z excells in all other areas. My 2002 Z06 started to rattle like a snake after about six months....the build quality was terrible for a $50,000 car. A used one for less than $30,000 will give you great performance but will be only slightly better than a Camaro in quality. It just depends on what's most important to you.

I replaced the Z06 with a 350Z track model. I miss the power of the Vette, but I enjoy the handling, styling, and quality of the Z much more. I'm sure I'll be checking out the C-6 in couple of years, but for now, I'll stick with the Z.

I was going to....but when a new rattle developed just about every week (the kind of rattles you can't even find...like behind the speedometer), putting $12,000 into that car suddenly seemed pretty foolish. The car seemed to be falling apart before my eyes.

I thought I might consider the new Viper, but over $80,000 for car that supposedly now cooks it's passengers from excess heat in the cabin seems ridiculous......and the car's build quality is probably even worse than the Vette's. I'm not a Porsche fan, so I'll hope for some decent mods for the the 350Z, and I'll wait and see if GM gets their act together with the C-6 Corvette.

Niether were half the cars out now not boosted from factory, that are boosted now, but you dont see those blocks crack and blowing anywhere near as much and consistently. You cant even say boost and LS7 in same sentence. Its pathetic, its completely allergic to boost...Last week I saw what boost did to the scrony LS7...just sad....but dont let continuity and epic fail after epic fail get in your way

Try buying the almost 3900 pound (and butt ugly) GTR for anything close to its $70K+ sticker..if you can even find one. And you can easily find non-Z06 Vettes for under $40k....again, superior performance and value vs. the 370Z.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Z and I'm sure the new one will be a nice car, but it's certainly not the only game in town. Comparing it to the 4-banger Solstice is just plain stupid when it's real competition are the superior Corvette and the upcoming 422HP Camaro V8 for $30K.
Solstice is not really stupid, ever since they've come out with the Turbo version with I believe 265hp. It's most definately worthy competitor to the Z Roadster, and as for based vettes as well as the up and coming Camaro sure enough it's got more power (better be, with a big *** V8) however, given the previous gen of Camaro/Firebird quality is definately not on their first priority, not to mention whats with the Retro styling? Can't think of better design? Or just American hopes that it will bring back the 60's glory days? same applies to Mustang/Charger/HHR/SSR sure enough u could bring some of the previous cars shadows, but not just straighten some edges and call it a day? Same with interior too?? WTF? I'll much rather stick with my Z33 and possibly getting a GTR next year. If u ask me or most people on this board, I am sure as hell most would want the GTR instead of a new vette or Camaro.

The Z Car and the Vette are not in the same category. The Corvette and the GTR are direct competitors. GTR wins everytime.

There are three different Corvettes....you may want to specify before you make such a generalization.

The Z06 is the direct competitor to the GTR, not the base Corvette, which IS a (superior) competitor to the Z. Judging on the cost of maintenance, availability, and styling, the Z06 wins hand down over the GTR, although the GTR has the edge in performance and interior quality. If you want to throw in the ZR1, which now holds the new track record at the Nurburgring, the GTR loses big time.

"scrony"??

Companies like Lingenfelter and APS may disagree with you....but what do they know, right?

The base GTR does Nurburgring in 7:35 (some reports 7:29)
Corvette ZR1 in 7:26.4
GTR V Spec/Spec V in 7:25

Once again the six banger beats our the big 8

If that's true, then the GTR V Spec is indeed the king of the ring for now.

Unfortunately, the GTR is still like an ugly chick who is great in bed.....you can only stand her with the lights off. I'll take the smokin' hot one that is just about as good....and may actually be better depending upon the "driver."
