I don't think I'd buy another Nissan again period. The quality is just not there.

Wow Diesel, you must have had some bad luck. Sorry about that. I have owned 11 Nissan products and rave about the quality. Never had any major issues. Just oil changes. Plus, of all Manufacturers out there; it's the only manufacturer that I've been able to take so many cars home from and never had to return for manufacturing flaws, damage or, etc... Were talking Maximas, Altimas, many Z's and Pathfinders.

I just drive them off the lot, change the oil, do the maintenance and enjoy them. About the only issue I've had is the dash were it meets the window (on my 350Z-RIP) vibrated a little on full thottle blasts. Put a little velcro carpet tape between the window and dash and no more vibration noise. Didn't even need to take it into the dealer.

Again sorry for your disappointment.... ;-(

No, not bad luck, just a lot of little things here and there that every other forum member has probably encountered, I am probably just a little bit more picky than others. BTW yes I have that same little rattle noise you are talking about. These are the little things I'm talking about but they just seem to pop up more often for me. Now I'm having to deal with a bad TPMS sensor.

Again sorry to hear that. However, I do note in your signature that you have modded your car. I know I have more things to deal with on my modded cars than on the cars I leave stock. I also drive my modded cars a lot harder too.* TPMS sensors going out happens to lots of cars. I just replaced one on my Jeep and it cost $60. Part of upkeep. However, haven't had TPMS go out on any of the Nissans yet. The more goodies they put on cars the more there is to go wrong.

*Everyone that races knows stuff breaks. It's part of racing.

I had FI Exhaust + HFCs on my Z and it was faster than any stock 370z Ive driven(2 of them).

Trust me, dont sell your Z if you dont have to, pay it off, keep it and love it......... and then buy something else, never sell your Z.
So what if you did the same exact mods on a 370z? Why then a 370 would take your HR. Only you would have a much nicer/newer car with far better styling. Silly statements I read in this forum..............

I loved my 350Z and I love my 370Z too. If I was only able to spend about $20K on a car I'd buy a used '08 HR with 50-60K miles for sure. I would have kept my 350Z as it was paid off. Unfortunately, it was totalled by some guy behind me that was talking on his cell phone and not paying attention. Caused me some serious back pain and loss of my 350Z. I'm better now and the Z was 5 years old anyways. I liked the look of the 370Z and performance and I had the money so I figured I would just upgrade. I'm glad I did. It is nicer than the old 350Z and it is about .5 sec faster to 60 and also to the 1/4 mile. Nothing wrong with 4.6 0-60 and 12.9 quarter miles times. I did upgrade the tires too. I now have Michelin Super Sports and they helped the car out some. Any Z can benefit a set of these tires.

Enjoy the ride !!!

Because the 370z looks nothing like a 350z. It just doesnt have it. And I am only a fan on the HR Z styling.

The 370z is not worth me spending $35k+. If Im going to spend 35,000 on a car im going to buy an STI or a used Audi S5, e92 n3.

The 370z is far too overpriced for what you get.

And what I was getting at was this:
You buy a used 20k 07/08 350z touring edition and add 2000 for FI exhaust/HFCs.

or You buy a used 370z equivalent with sport mode for nearly 28k... add 2000 for the exhaust and youre spending 8500(extra 500 for difference in taxes) for an uglier car that wont be much faster at all.

350z also sounds a lot better than the 370z.

I didnt want to say all of this since its a 370z sub forum, but since you want to call it "silly" I figured I would.

Styling is subjective...it's all matter of taste. If you like the 350Z better, good for you. That doesn't mean you are right......it only means that the 350Z is the car you like. BFD. The only person your opinion matters to is you.

I've owned both cars and I can tell you from experience that the 370Z is a far better designed and engineered car. It is devoid of the rattles, squeaks, and poor build quality that plaqued my 350Z. It has enough power to keep me from feeling the need to go FI, which I did with my 350Z. The 350Z really does seem like a far "cheaper" car than the 370Z by comparison......so the the used car prices of 350Z reflect exactly what you can expect: an outdated car that has been dramatically eclipsed by the new generation.

The 370Z is far from perfect and certainly not my dream car, but it does offers exceptional bang for the buck performance and quality and makes the 350Z seem like yesterday's news...which it is.

I think you get what you pay for @ 20K for a 08 HR or, 32K for a 370Z. That is what I paid for a new 370Z Base with Sport Pkg. 3yr/36k and 60K drivetrain warantee. I think you get what you pay for in this regard. For me, right now; I'd rather have a new car with warantee than a used car that I might have to come up with $ to fix in a couple of years. I'm enjoying the added punch you get out of the 370z as well. I can always through a Procharger on there and be in Z06 territory. But, why? I have a Procharged Formula Firebird that lays waste to those. You can see it in background of my avatar ..... So, who cares how fast a Z is really? There is always someone with a faster car.

It's like the old saying goes: Opinions are like a-holes. Everyone has one and they all stink.

That said, I bought a 2008 HR 350Z Touring (manual, Nogaro Red) during the the auto industry collapse in February 2009, so I got it for $12,000 less than asking price and enjoyed the federal tax write-off as well It only had 25 miles on the odometer when I drove it off the lot. My Z now has a (whopping) 18,000 miles on it and I smile every time I get in and turn the key.

I spent a day with a 2010 370Z that a buddy of mine purchased with the automatic and stock for stock, it blew my Z out of the water in terms of handling and acceleration. I'm not as big a fan over the styling, but then again, what I wrote above about opinions. Having driven a stick for the past 25 years, I was not happy that the automatic performed so much better. All things considered, it wasn't enough to make me want an automatic, but still.

As far as fit and finish on the interior is concerned, honestly, I think they're closer to par than most people acknowledge. Nissan uses the same cheap plastics behind the seats and the only real difference is that the panels fit better on the 370 and they use more padding. The 350 and the 370 share more traits in terms of interior quality than they differ.

I think they're both good cars in their own right, just as the 300ZX, the 280ZX and the 240Z were all great cars in their own time (260Z? hmmmm....)

I'm just happy that Nissan is mostly progressive with the Z car, unlike Mitsubishi and their former Eclipse or Mazda and their former RX cars or Toyota and their whatever they've been doing for the past 10 years. I'd love to see Nissan build a 400Z as their swan song, and then go from larger displacement engines to newer technologies. I'd probably buy a 4.0L Z, but I'll give the 370Z a skip. Hell, I've barely even broken my 350 in.

I actually went to the dealer today to check-out the 2012 Nissan 370Z because of the 0% financing going on right now. After the test drive, the 370Z is a better all around car compared to my 2008 350Z in terms of fit, finish, and ride comfort. However, I still couldn't pull the trigger on the trade-in because I was wanting more from the 370Z in terms of power and handling. It may be a more polished Z than what I currently have, but IMO it didn't have enough "oomph" to make the switch. I'll wait for the next iteration of the Z.

Oh you mean the new smaller less powerful one with 4 cylinder motor. I d go with 370 if you want last of bigger 6cylinder Z's. I have both 350 Z and 370 Z. I like both cars. The Z34 is definitely more refined and has more torque for sure. Interior is much nicer too. The 350 Z is a little more crude but I like that in some ways.

If ur gonna spend all that money on a hideous lookin 370.. u might as well go for a more respected 996 turbo...$1000 flash gives u 500hp from 425 i think...i just totaled my 2008 few weeks ago...now im waiting to either buy a less than 10k miles HR again or just save a bit n get the 996 turbo..or even maybe an e46 or e92 m3

Pretty much. I miss aspects of my 350Z, I won't lie. But the 370Z is simply the better car in every single respect.

370z beats out the 350 in all aspects....the only downfall of the 370z are the fangs in the front bumper grill. lol

My wife and I were doing some Sunday car shopping and we stopped at the Nissan dealer to check out a very sexy 2 door Altima. They had the new 370's on the lot and...

well...

I've said some nasty things about them, but I want one now. I changed my mind. I wish they'd had a convertible I could check out, but they didn't even have one inside.

Needless to say, after we get her a new car I'm going to start looking at 370's.

Years ago, after I saw the first pics after release, I didn't have nice things to say either. After seeing one in person with the sports package, I was sold. I can't fathom what I'm going to do when I finally see my Nismo in person.
