Thanks for the correction. The 370Z's leaked spec sheet says ~3250lbs, so it's still got quite a bit lighter.

meh... 100-150 pounds is likes removal of the rear seats and the spare... its honestly not that big of a difference. whats more important to me is how stout the motor is, and also the tranny. also curious on the compression on the v6 they are using... if its fairly low and can handle a decent amount of boost. sorry... after my Z ill never mod for NA power lol unless i got a v8.

What a POS. No way that car will hang with a Z on the track.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Genesis coupe. I think it's a very well rounded car, and nice looking, too. But, it's not meant to compete with the 370Z - it's meant to compete with the G37. The 370Z is smaller and lighter, and will outrun both. It's a sports car, not a GT.

the genesis definitely looks good, but i think its generic and borrows way too many cues from the cars that are out today... and therefore, will age very fast. 370z looks like nothing out there, i'd take that any day.

To be fair, the two don't compete with each other. As another poster said, one is a sports car and the other is a GT. Would you call the 370Z a POS because it can't hang with a ZR-1 on the track?

That was the point of my post. The OP is obviously trying to compare the Genesis to the 370Z by starting this thread.

Again, I would not buy one but give credit where credit is due. They have come a very, very long way.

Agreed. I give them credits but I will never drive their cars. Maybe as a beater car for my wife or gf but me = no Hyundai.

Actually, since the Gen Coupe is a 2+2... I think Nissan needs to figure out why the G37 coupe is 200+ pounds heavier. And if the 370Z ends up closer to 3400 pounds than anticipated, fire that engineer as well.

Nissan/Infiniti was always the "sporty" brand, and they need to get there cars on a diet.

And my point is why call a car a POS when you haven't even driven it? No need to manifest your siege mentality.

I have driven quite a few Hyundai's and the quality is just not very good. Yes, Hyundai has come a long way in the last few years but it does not even come close to that of Nissan.

That would be a valid point... if there were a stock turbo V6.
