i heard that as well...the car was made to mod up. Also the engine has a lot of space for any modification you wish. So what if it's not to quick stock....thats the case with any car you get. Just up the boost and you'll be there. And im sure most of you would prefer the 370z over the genesis cuz it is faster performance wise. But what about the price??? Im just saying for the money, you get more than what you pay for with the genesis...my opinion though.

After driving a rental Hyundai Sonata last year for a week, I came away very impressed by it quality and features (given its low price point). I would still pick the Z over the Genesis, but that's because I am fan of Nissan.
The 2.0T variant is almost purpose built to be a tuner car, and will likely grace the covers of many magazines in the near future.

which hyundai cars have you driven? i've been in quite a few (sonata, azera, genesis, veracruz) and the EQUUS (thats the luxury brand in Korea), and i thought the build quality was pretty good. even the new i30 (not sure if they sell it here in the US yet), looked pretty good for a hatchback.
having owned 2 nissans (03 pathfinder and 03 Z), there are some build issues with them as well (more so the Z, cause the pathfinder was a rock!)

Again, I am not saying that Hyundai has not made leaps and bounds from where they used to be. And all mass produced cars have build issues of some sort. That's nor here nor there. But the design quailty and materials H uses is not as good as Nissan. And it shows when you spend several days on the road in the cars like I have been able to.

The Genesis will be for the kids who can't afford the 370Z. All of you Hyundai fans need to go to a Hyundai forum http://www.clubhyundai.org/f/

if it has the motor from the evo 10... then its a rwd evo coupe with a nice looking body. suspension mods, rims, and tuned, this car is going to be pretty nasty... dont fight it... i think its going to be very possible that these things will eat us up with no problem with just bpu...
* not talking road courses and what not... im just talking basic everyday driving/straight line. its going to be very interesting...*

Not bad..looks like a g37 had sex with an acura rsx and out came a bastard child=genesis coupe. Still not in the same league as the 370z. Genesis coupe is supposed to be competing with the mustang/eclipse/camaro.

The turbo motor is the same as the EVO X motor, but with a smaller turbo. It can handle 500HP on the stock bottom end as tested by Rhys Millen.
Here's a few pics I took at SEMA. Please forgive the crap quality. I took the pics with my Canon Elura 60 camcorder. Seeing how these turned out made me go out and buy a real camera yesterday.
The HKS coupe:
The RMR coupe:
The supercharged 460HP V8 that's going to be available in the sedan next year:

interior looks like it was made in detriot with all those cheap platics... interior has no personality....
exterior is grade A nice looking car...
performance is probably great too and f/i has lots of cheap potential
only one thing left to do and that is to drive the 370z and the GEN. and see which one puts a bigger smile on your face

interior looks a step up from the 350z, and a step down from the 370z. i guess its all going to depend to me on how much the track model of the genesis costs. if its going to be almost 30k, then id rather have a 370z, if the track model is around 25-26(which i dont see as being likely) then id rather have the genesis with the tuning potential.
lsd/brembo/navigation/sport tuned suspension sounds pretty nice. but not for 30k which is what im guessing will be the the pricing with maybe even some dealer gouging... since itll probably slightly on the more limited side of production.

hyundai nameplate is enough for me to pass on that one....that and the rear side window shape is odd...and the whole dual crossing beltline thing bothers me...why couldn't they have just met each other?
I personally like the cleanness of the Altima coupe's lines over the Genesis...hell or an accord coupe (I wouldn't drive either of the 2, but appearance wise they are less offensive to me.)
No Nissan owner can complain about another maker's interior looking cheap...seriously Nissan's interiors are notoriously cheap looking/feeling.

Siege Mentality? Uh... You are the one who started this noobie.
And the Hyundai quality is not good. Sure the report shows great improvements. But I will say it again, I have driven quite a few H cars and the quality is not good. Mostly in the design and materials. It is a noticible difference compared to nissan products.
The report shows Infiniti, which is a Nissan product, 2nd only to Porsche in initial quality. Hyundai only squeaks above the industry average.
You took my first comment out of context and made a failed attempt to turn it into something else.
