Proportionally, the car doesn't not look right. Sure its got those swoopy lines but take it away and it looks like an economy car. And that front end is horrible.

personally this is to me Hyundai's srt4/eclipse/rsx but with the proper wheels moving. i mean im not saying ill jump on this, but ill wait a year, and see how the reliability is on these things... maybe itll change my mind later, if the turbo is really under 20... might be a great buy for a DD.

Genesis is nice but I personally like the 370Z a lot better. The Z looks much better inside and out. Looks more sorted, more upscale. The Genesis looks like a cheaper car. I have been watching the development of the Genesis since its first announcement and was excited about it. The Z has more interesting body lines just not in profile but in all dimensions with that coke bottle kind of shape. Nothing says aggressive more than some fat fenders and pinched nose. The Z for me.

And the Hyundai quality is not good. Sure the report shows great improvements. But I will say it again, I have driven quite a few H cars and the quality is not good. Mostly in the design and materials. It is a noticible difference compared to nissan products.
The report shows Infiniti, which is a Nissan product, 2nd only to Porsche in initial quality. Hyundai only squeaks above the industry average.
You took my first comment out of context and made a failed attempt to turn it into something else.

Siege Mentality? Uh... You are the one who started this noobie.

having owned 2 nissans (03 pathfinder and 03 Z), there are some build issues with them as well (more so the Z, cause the pathfinder was a rock!)

I think the New genesis 2.0T make have more initial mod potential than either the Hyundai or Nissan V6. Hyundai has already stated the engine is built to handle up to 29 PSI with no internal modifications needed.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Genesis coupe. I think it's a very well rounded car, and nice looking, too. But, it's not meant to compete with the 370Z - it's meant to compete with the G37. The 370Z is smaller and lighter, and will outrun both. It's a sports car, not a GT.
Very nice car and i applaud Hyundai. They've finally built something that i find desirable. That said, it's just a tiny bit too "soft" for me at this point in my life. 10 years from now, i'll probably want something like that. For now i'm willing to deal with something more hard core and all the inconveniences that brings with it.
Although in reality i'm just goin to hold on to my 06' 350Z.
