my '06 is in the shop for 2-3 weeks (rear ended) and they gave me a Camaro 1LT (3.6L V6) as a rental.... i know we're comparing an SS vs 370Z but based on a simple comparison between my '06 and the rental, the latter really feels like a boat.... i've been driving my Z for 5 years now and once i got behind the wheel of the 1LT it literally felt like they put a foot of extra sheet metal (and mass) all around my Z... based on my shoot-from-the-hip first impression here's what i got...
350Z
- sounds far better
- better mpg (but mine's manual)
- sharper handling
1LT
- turns heads
- the car feels big inside and I'm 6'2"
- outward visibility is very bad, worse than Z, due to narrow windows
- hard to park, feels big and wide
- it seats 4
both of these cars have similar displacement, hp, and wheel size... the Z feels sharper and more compact... i still have two more weeks of driving the Camaro so i'll give u guys the final update...

Camaro VS Z
I love both cars and I have drove both cars including the 350z. SS, 370 base and 350 base were my 3 choices. Good thing my roomate was also planning to buy the SS because i went and decided the 350z over the other 2 for these reasons.
1) Camaro was not at all fun to drive and you couldnt have a good idea if there was a car in your blind spots
2)Camaro drawed more attention and scared to have it stolen or broken into
3)370z didnt feel much different to the 350
4)370z was as much as the camaro and it seemed better idea to get camaro
5)350z felt more bang for the buck than both
just got out of boot camp for the navy and i was 18 when i was going to buy my first car. it was a 2006 350z touring. thought about the responsibilities of the car and decided to hold on to my 250sx my dad bought me when i turned 16 until i felt ready. 5 years later i came back and made some rank in the military so i can afford it but bought a 2008 base 350z because of all the time i spent researching and saving for it i felt ready. Kid, i am 23 now which isnt much older than 18 but did research and came back and got what i wanted for so long.
