Is it just me or did some people have ridiculously high standards for the new Z? This is pretty much exactly where I was expecting the 370 to be at. I'm loving the trap of nearly 106mph! I could barely squeeze out a 100.xx in my 04 and my 06 revup trapped a tad lower. Both were close to 14 sec cars. The HR I drove ran 13.6 at 102.xx. This 370Z is definitely step up..no complaints here
I honestly believe the 7 AT will be even quicker than the manual...if not the same.

Pretty close to the results that Motor Trend got for the Cayman S:
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...911_specs.html
I'm sure most people would still take the Cayman S if money were no object of course. Still, good upgrade by Nissan. They improved in alot of important areas.

Z: 101
Cayman: 109
Also, the Cayman's weight distribution equals the Z's, except it is in reverse!!
Z: 54 / 46 %
Cayman: 46 / 54 %

+1 what another poster said about the M3 coming with a V8. No one saw that coming.

+1 Nissan needs to step up their game and come out with something with more HP in the future or I am taking my money elsewhere when I buy my next sports car. I just got embarrased today by a $40,000 Mustang Shelby GT500 with 2 fat guys sitting inside.

1. I hope you were not racing on the steets.....
2. Is your car modded?? If not, you are going up against a 500 hp 480 something or rather torque car.... And, since when was the Z officially matched up against a GT500?? Different classes Sir.... Remember, Nissan wants the Z to fight the Cayman which means it is a twisties car. With 99 lateral G, I'd say it should be up to the task. Guess we will see soon....
I was hoping the 370 would be able to match the GT500 to 60, but the GT500 clears 60 in about 4.3 seconds. Still a bit out of the Z's range. The Z's numbers are very respectable.

No shame in loosing to a 5.4L SC V8 with a mildly modded N/A V6.

BTW the GT500 is an over 50k car. With markups they were going for 70k+ at one point. Different league of car than the Z whether you like it or not. Nissan can give you a 500hp car but it wont be a Z. And if it was a Z you would cry about it being a 50k + car. Cant please em all..

Those numbers seem high to me; MotorTrends seem much more realistic. Enough about straight line performance, what does C&D say about handeling??

Those #'s really seem too high. People on here with stock HR are doing mid to low 13's for 1/4's.

"A suspension retune intended to reduce roll and body heaving still supplies an agreeable ride on base 18 inch wheels and Yokohama Advan Sport summer tires. Our prototype lacked the correct steering rack so we'll defer absolute judgment for now. But so far, at least one important mission--not screwing up what was a pretty good thing--seems accomplished. Our Z zigged with unwavering grip and confident neutrality as it maneuvered through corners. The base brakes proved forceful and perfectly sensitive to small pressure changes. Going fast, this Z feels smaller, probably (and mainly) because the roof is .3inches lower."
Yeah I agree, I bet it is way more capable than the numbers they are showing.

Cool. Danke! They tested the base model with no sport pack?
