But let me tell you this if you want to have more fun and actually feel the true power of the car get a manual. Plus any "serious" tuner who sees you with an automatic will laugh in your face. So personally I've driven manual all my life never once had an automatic car and I never will. So manual all the way. Oh yea and I live in NYC with hills and a hell of alot of traffic and **** so no excuses!

P.S: Auto drivers stop saying you bought an automatic for performance reasons because if you were serious you'd learn to drive stick and join everyone in having fun!!!!!
I know how to drive MT and have owned three. I just choose to have an AT now.... Tired of the shifting. If the AT does indeed prove to be quicker, more power to me.

MT 370Z Owners are:
AT 370Z Owners are:

There are far too many other battles where both the AT and MT crowd have common enemies; focus on them instead of engaging in a civil war.

BTW - I know tuners that will disagree with you....

With this car I'm going to to get the MT although I believe the 7AT will be faster.

The 7AT with the 6MT pumpkin will be the best setup for the 1/4 though.

You got that right! I have a 5AT with 6MT 3:55's and it blasts out of th hole and is really torquey. The 7AT is going to be something else. I had a SCCA lic to compete with a formula Vee, so I don't have any problems driving a stick. The reality is.....the clutch (as you know it) is going away guys. Example is the GTR.

I wasnt trying to engage a civil war lol i was just referring to the reasons people swap out and you just proved my point and again im not saying people who drive auto smell im just stating the difference. Personally about the 370z u can keep it, for the money it will cost to buy one after trading my z in i rather save the money for mods and beat down the 370. IMO

..it does doesn't it - but so does an auto-rev-matching MT. When I get lazy, turn that beach on and let the car just take over.. When I'm bored, turn that beach back off!

Unless you have a physical condition or are a chick, why in the world would you buy an auto in a car that is meant to be driven for the joy of driving? Very very silly but that obviously just my opinion.

And when you say faster, no auto is faster than an MT driven by a GOOD driver, especially around a track. Maybe in a straight line sure but if i want to hit a corner in 3rd at EXACTLY 5500 RPM, i sure as hell can't do that with an auto, no matter how many electronics its loaded down with. You just can't disconnect the engine from the tranny. YOU NEED A CLUTCH!!!

More for our case dude. I really wish people would reject these silly paddle shifters so that manufacturers (including nissan) won't make them. They are a half-assed version of a real manual tranny. But the more people want to buy them and not drive REAL manuals, the more they will be produced.

And as for pro racers using paddles, are you referring to F1? No kidding...in F1 there is no goddam room for a shift ****! And I think comparing those vehicles to production cars is a little silly. There isn't much they have in common. The VAST MAJORITY of professional racers use manual transmissions. The real kind with a clutch.

LOL. It's true but still using paddle shifter to change gear without stepping on the clutch paddle. Driving style is the same but mechanical is not. What is your point?

I drive a 5AT (bad left knee) but since I got it I really enjoy it in manual mode. The 7AT will be awesome! Once in a while I will put a brick where the clutch pedal usually goes and stomp on it when I shift so that I can feel my dick get bigger. It doesn't matter what we all think, the clutch as we know it is going away.....
