370Z NISMO coming soon
#22
The US Sales Education material was just released to dealers. And the NISMO package is listed as a "model" (base, touring, NISMO). There are already these 370z's in Japan and they don't have the graphics...but the graphics aren't the worst part. That body kit is absolutely horrible. Sad thing is that if this is a factory option then there won't be any contest in B Stock SOLO, you have to have the NISMO, and I don't want to drive that ugly POS, but I want to get a 370z for SOLO.
Sigh...I hope it's a dealer installed option and not a true factory option/model. That way it won't be legal in B Stock and I won't have to drive that ugly *** kitted car.

There is a NISMO coming, but it's not the car you showed us.

some people are just too thick headed to listen, it's not even worth explaining

And for a link detailing the US Sales information:
Nissan USA Marketing/Sales information
(see page 7)
And for a pic of a JDM S-Tune (or NISMO, whatever they end up calling it):
Some things we can see from the above information:
S-Tune/NISMO body kit is ugly
Suspension/Bracing kit should be good stuff
It's being called both "NISMO" in the education material and S-Tune everywhere else
Some things we can't tell:
Is this going to be a factory option?
Is this going to be a port side install?
Is this going to be a dealer install?
Some odd things about the above information:
Its being both referenced as a dealer install (almost everywhere) and a factory model (in the marketing PDF).
Marketing PDF says it will have NISMO branded Tach (that's what leads me to believe this would be a factory option).

If you know or can provide anything other than this third party info, please do Solo. While I believe you 100% that you know a guy that went and saw a Z, something about the timing and no mention of the S-Tune here, and mention of a NISMO being later released here seems a bit lost.

^ wow, you actually came to your senses and realized their not making a V8 powered Z and I would half way expect you of all people to know everything about the NISMO 370Z and not have to ask someone else

Yes about 10 or so people were invited personally to go. I was also but couldn't due to work. They went into Autech factory and they were designing the new 370z NISMO already. They could not give me detail on exactly the way it looked, but they said it's nothing like those pictures and it looks a lot better. No it was after the S-Tune was revealed.

It looks like what a Nismo 370Z would look like IMHO. Simple suspension upgrades, different skirts, wing, some decals, no engine tweaks, etc.....Is this really a surprise? An unfavorable opinon on the regular Z34 aesthetically would surely guarantee a disapproval of the Nismo version. My point is, all this isn't really surprising. Regardless of whether we like the Z34 or not, time will come when we'll all accept the fact that it will outperform our Z33s. I'm not sure about everyone else, but performance plays a more prominent role in my book.

Hehe. I never thought they WOULD actually. It just remained a justifiable possibility from a market perspective (re-read my posts and you'll realize that I never said they were going to, just that it would make sense to from certain perspectives). People are always flying off the handle here, not actually reading what you typed. They see V8 Z and call you a heretic, regardless of what you are actually talking about. For me, it was an obvious possiblity, confirmed by Nissan to have been an idea that they even thought was worth tossing around, so I was not off at all by calling it justifiable. Even in my posts when this was a hot topic I said it was unlikely. Thanks though for trying to bait me then and now. I get some kind of weird internetz jollyz off of it. See you 'round Racer.
