Car & Driver reviews production 370Z, now weighs a lot more than expected
In the end the Z is a 3300-3400lb vehicle and not a 3200-3300 vehicle.....no big deal IMO
Can never really know how they are doing it. They probably go to a truck stop to get weight lol.
My 04 G35c w/ brembos (stock brembos), with TT setup (huge fmic), heavier wheels, etc....and me in it w/ 1/3 tank gas, was 3655lbs.........they say it should be like 3455 without me lol...so that can't be right.

In the Jan '09 issue C&D is estimating the Z's performance and stats. They then released the online review that was a full test where they actually weighed the vehicle and test drove the vehicle themselves. All of the numbers were different....

Sure.... just like the 135i was 3440 when it is really 3370. Nice work C&D...
it wouldnt be slower, but it does make me happier that the new z is heavier. Im thinking as years go by, all new z's are going to get heavier and heavier, unless all car manufacturers start using carbon fiber to become more greener and lighter bla bla bla
anyways, i can sell my car right now and get a brand new 370 for the same money (im in canada and out prices are jacked hiiiigh lol)
that aside, like i said before and quoted the guy saying, it does make me feel better because i simply love the performance of the 370 but hate the overall look with passion.

Worst case, its the same weight as an HR. We all know the the first Z33 350Z's are lighter per Nissan's claim. But what needs to be proved is if Nissan's claim about the 370Z being lighter than the 07-08 350Z is truth or not. But im pretty sure its not heavier than the HR 350Z.
I could care less, considering that its still posting up impressive numbers and is surely the best performing Z to date, with added ammenities and safety.
If the Base + Sports package was weighed 3350lbs, it's heavier than a base or enthusiast HR-Z. The Touring + Sports should no doubt be heavier than a Touring HR-Z too. And I'm saying this using Nissan's BS weight numbers for the 06-08 Zs, and not our own personal claims and weights.
If it weighs more or less it might not be by much. The fact is that it is not that much faster the the last of the Z33 HR Z. Half a second is ****. Exterior wise the car imo does'nt look that much better then the 07-08. I seen the pictures of both side by side. The interior and transmisson is what I really like. I'm going to wait to test drive to make my final choice. But since my 07 is allready paid in full it's going to be a hard one. Also aftermarket parts are going to be more expensive. Example Nismo Exhaust and HKS coilovers. If I keep my HR i'm going with a TT kit or a Vortech SC.

Edmunds tested the new Z and if I recall they did like 13.3 or 13.4 at the quarter mile. The new Z is without a doubt faster than the HR. I like the way the new one looks too.
I received the February Car & Driver in the mail today.
In it they road tested the 370Z with Sport package. I also noticed it was equipped with optional oil and differential coolers. Estimated cost was $500 each.
The Z weighed in at 3373 pounds by C&D measurement. They also did 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, 1/4 mile in 13.5 seconds at 106 mph, top speed (limited) of 157 mph and hit .97 g's on a 300' skid pad.
What I find curious/interesting is that this is not the first review I've read where the tested cars had the optional coolers installed. Nissan obviously know the cars will be tested on a track and I presume they don't want the overheated oil situation to show up.

Wow, a lot of you HR owners are full of crap..
I'm going to tell you straight up that this thing is going to **** on your 3.5 HR like your HR shat on the DE when it first came out... nuff said.
Your 07/08 Z is going to be crap compared to this. Pull your heads out of your asses.
