350z VS. 370z (photo comparison)

to me, they look much more similar then different. i'm just glad that they didn't change the look THAT much, therefore rendering the older model obsolete.
i think the new one is ok, has some aspects that are better, ie hp / interior, and some external things, but the 350 still looks damn sexy. a 350 with modded exterior is just as good as a 370. to the public, they both look new/different as compared to base 350.
as for hp, what are we talking about here, ~20-30 increased hp?
and for increased width, it's just ~1 inch. very hard to appreciate side by side..

I still prefer the 350Z's looks over the 370Z. The 370Z is a great looking car but it's like the little brother of the 350Z some how.
Instead of being successor it looks like a smaller, cheaper version of the 350Z. The headlights and taillights are not very good looking at all and the whole car has lost the solid appearance the 350Z had.

Sat in a 370Z and it feels considerably narrower than the 350Z. Not good for a guy my size! I like the 350Z styling better and def the blue is better. But they are both killer looking cars!

I wonder why it felt narrower to you when it is actually wider than the 350Z.

Sorry friend but you are wrong, the 370Z's cabin/interior room is slighty larger in every way compared to the 350Z's cabin/interior room. Exterior-wise the 350Z is longer, sits higher and has a much larger turning radius. Go to Msn or Yahoo or any other site where you can compare the specs of the cars side by side. Here, I'll assist you and post some data of the data just to make sure you don't get it wrong again...

Here's a nice side profile comparison between the 2 Zs. IMO it's clear that the 370z has much more presence with its aggressiveness and ultimately looks better. The huge flared fenders, the small windows/green and the calling back to the tradition Z design theme of long hood with short deck (the 350z departed from this as its canopy sits in the middle of the car).
IMO, the 350z > 370z.
I just can't stand the headlights and rear lights of the 370z.
The only thing that is working in favor of the 370z is its specs and that its canopy resembles the GTR.

Typical salesman, doesn't know anything about the product he's selling. Did you hit a buffet that day before sitting in it? 370Z is wider and has more space than the 350Z but it should feel just the same since it's not enough of a change to actually notice.

I've put my money where my mouth is and a few weeks ago bought a runout 350z (my first Z). Getting close to 2000 kms now and really enjoying it out on the open road.
I've not really liked too much about the exterior styling of the 370z since I first saw pictures months ago. I will accept that it is technically the better car because the numbers say so but nothing is going to make me like the head lights, fangs (infact everything in front of the head lights), tail lights, or wheels (easily changed I know). Rear wheel arches look a bit over done.
Nissan have been rather daring with this one and people are either going to love it or hate it.
I'll be interested to see how it evolves over the next few years (what stays/what goes).

slowly ...and i mean slowly growing on me! nothing special other than the performance aspect of the 370Z. i have to agree w/^ that nissan stepped out of the "production box" with this one. its almost like that tiburon/vanquish/bmw gumbo mix = nasty.

I posted this in another similar area before I saw this huge thread, so for some it is a duplicate.
I know I will probably get flamed for this, but at the LA auto show I was really really disappointed in the looks, seemed to be less classy and more techy in a celica sort of way (not good to me). Then I looked at the interior and drooled. This is how Nissan should have done the interior finish!!!.
Now, I have seen a couple on the road and my opinion is changing, the car looks better while driving, a few things I like about it:
1. The rear bumper has a little more flare and is less boring just between the tail pipes.
2. The rear end looks pretty good, a bit more aggressive
3. The lights are growing on me.
4. 19" aggressive wheels stock, with better offsets as well.
5. Rear end fender/wheel flares seem more aggressive/wider (BUT, see #4 below)
Here are things I really miss (see my pics below) or don't like:
1. The waist line on the 350z seems like such a clean and attractive styling cue. It is/was one of my favorite things about the car. WIth the new shape and how the back end "droops" that waste line is lost.
2. The 350 was a little longer and didn't have as much of a squaty look. Of course this is personal opinion, but I really liked the look an dimensions of the 350 when it was lowered just a tiny bit and had 19" wheels on it.
3. The C-Pillar seemed to flow better on the 350.
4. Why does nissan continue to make the area around the wheel wells so freakin BIG and flat. Why cant they just flare the fenders without that lame outline? Someone needs to stop this trend. It is something I didn't like on the 350 and now on the 370, altima and maxima it is getting RIDICULES!!
5. The front end (short) look of 350 better
I find it ironic that the GTR has more similar styling cues to the 350 than the 370 (front lights, C-pillar, waist line, etc...)
now since I am comparing a stock 370 to a slightly modded for my style 350, if I compare a stock 370 to a stock 03 350 base with those hideously small and wrong offset 17" wheels on the base. I would probably have to say a new stock 370 looks better than that.

You want a freakin SEXY straight on shot of an old 350Z, stock ht, no body mods, only added 19" wheels, here you go.....
BTW, this picture, because of the color and where the sun shines (and color, I think it shows better in the silver) displays some very obvious design cues that I think are gone with the new 370.

As for the pictures great comparison! You got a very sexy Z, but I still have to give my nod to the 370. After all the first time I saw them in person side by side is what made me fall in love with the 370 and decide to buy one.

How many people made fun of the Pontiac Aztek because they were "jealous". I am not saying the 370 is an Aztek, but what I am saying is that people can still have an opinion without jealously being an issue. I love Porsche 911's but can't afford a new one right now. I wouldn't say they are ugly because I am "jealous", the opposite happens, I say to my self "Damn Porsche got it right with that car, I wish I had one".

Look at it this way..when the RX8 first came out not everyone liked its robo-cop look, it was too busy.. It replaced the rx7's subtle and sleek design. But now if you ask someone which they prefer, almost everyone says the RX8 looks hot..
same goes for the 370, some of you retards can sit here and nut hug the 350 all you want, but the fact is that the 370z >>>>> 350z
Also look at the Audi TT, the old one had so many bold lines and was very "techy" look, now look at the new one, much better flow, less gimmicks and much more mature look that will look good 10 years from now. The old TT already looks like a gimmick. I think it is one of the reasons Porsche 911's look timeless, they are fairly conservative but still beautiful and just aggressive enough. (the Boxster is another story).
I have to agree with the person that said the rear end on the 370z looks better, a bit more aggressive and not as boring.
