370Z@Borla Performance
rofl
"Its like an alaram clock WOO WOO!"
MY buddy had a borla I helped him put o his 350Z.
The clamps were interesting to say the least and were a real bear taking it off, but hey they worked on his.
I think you should stick to a similar sound you had on the 350Z, it was a very unique sound, and was rather quiet. Once you really got on it though the sound was loud and impressive.
Have had your stuff on other cars, keep up the good work!!

Don't make it too loud or too obvious. The stock 370z is already fairly loud. It should be deeper but not loud.
The Stillen on my old G35 sedan droned SOOO bad I was forced to remove it. I wasn't a fan of the Borla tips as much as the Stillen/Nismo tips for the 350z, but generally Borla's sound great so you guys probably can make a pretty good solution.

My point was more that exhaust manufacturers historically have made exhausts louder so they're noticeable. E.G. Honda Civic, BMW M3, Corvette, etc.
The 350Z and 370Z exhausts are pretty noticeable in stock form, so improvements should in performance, weight, looks, and tone.
It's not super loud, but for a stock car it's loud enough. Nissan/Infiniti has done this for several years now.

Optimal exhaust for me would be:
1. Lighter
2. Performance at the very least 10 true rwhp increase (asking too much?)
3. Deeper low end, and louder at WOT maybe 2-3 DB
4. Under $1,500.00
5. Tips slightly larger

It should sound something like this. An X pipe would be nice.

I had a 350 with a Borla TD. Sounded great but the fit was crappy. We ended up lowering the xbrace to keep it from rattling.
If I were you I would ditch the collars and use some nice flanges. More expensive I know but thats what a quality exhaust has.
Another point is that you should have a polished muffler available. Alot of Z owners will be buying kits that showcase the muffler and they won't be buying a Borla if you are offering the same dull finish factory looking thing.
Personally I like the exposed muffler look and will be buying an exhaust system that looks good as well as sounds good!

start with it hanging straight without modification. I bought a Borla exhaust for my 91 300ZXTT about 8-9 years ago and had to bring it to a exhaust shop and have new clamps put on it to get it to be even.
I read on here that the clamps for the 350Z exhaust were "interesting", so I would say get the fitment right first.

I couldn't agree more with haveing an X-pipe. I remeber my first mod on my 350Z was my Borla exhaust. My biggest complaint was the hissing sound on decelration I would get from the H-pipe, but I lived with it until the H-pipe cracked. After adding an X-pipe muffler the hiss was gone and I even gained some low end Tq; not to mention the overall sound of the exhaust improved dramatically. Aside from that I think a polished exhaust would look better than the dull finish my Borla came with.
I'd easily pay 2K for a titaniam exhaust (one company offers a stainless x pipe design already) with stock like exits. Dropping 40 lbs AND adding 10 horses would be a HUGE improvement. Is it possible for you guys to offer replaceable tips so those that have to have slanted dual walls and those that like the straight thin-wall can all have their cake?
