What was the mileage on the cars? Any insight on this rumor? I heard that when Nissan introduced the 37HR some of the engine maps were not properly hm adjusted? So the A/F ratios were all over the place on some and it shows when some of them hit the dynos. True or Rumor?
add intake, plenum mod, pulley, and tune= 325whp???
That seems in line % wise with the gains seen on the 350.
That car with 325 whp would be so fun.

The bone stock car had just a tad over 1200 miles. Mine was just shy of 1500 miles. I haven't heard that rumor, personally.

So how does that work since its the same engine? What is different between the 2? Obviously their sizes/weights are different but that shouldn't affect the power the engine creates. Just their speed and ability on a track. Is there something I'm not considering?
Good question. Is the gearing substantially different, maybe? If we start off with two near-identical engines but get different results at the wheels, then I'd think there are some differences somewhere in the drivetrain. In any case, I think we need to wait for some more people to try this setup and dyno their results so that we can compare. Right now, we have a sample size of just 1, and we need more data from a larger sample size. For all I know, maybe I really did luck out and ended up with a factory ringer.

Good question, and this is the reason for my shock at these results. Then engines are mechanically identical, but the power ratings are ever so slightly different. The other thing to keep in mind, is that I never baselined the blue car in question, so I have no idea what it's bone stock numbers were.
wow if I was one of those guys with a DE engine, I would trade it in for the 370 in a heartbeat..but I have my HR, and I think it's still relatively competitive..
but damn those are impressive gains from just an exhaust upgrade..

lol ur not being dumb , ur right. the vhr is just a strocked version of the hr with diff heads and of course tune. im sure soon someone will have a hr to vhr upgrade available. get heads which go new from nissan for about 500 each stroke it out to personally i would do 3.8 because it has a nicer ring to it imo and performace of course. u would need a harness to control the VVEL sensors and actuators but the they both share the same ECU extrernal connectors its just that the ROM files are different
