Sharif:
A 37 rhp increase with only hi-flow cats, cat-back exhaust and no intake mods all on stock tune? Is this correct-really? If so, I will see you in the near future.

Good question. Is the gearing substantially different, maybe? If we start off with two near-identical engines but get different results at the wheels, then I'd think there are some differences somewhere in the drivetrain. In any case, I think we need to wait for some more people to try this setup and dyno their results so that we can compare. Right now, we have a sample size of just 1, and we need more data from a larger sample size. For all I know, maybe I really did luck out and ended up with a factory ringer.

well sample size may be up to 2. Take a look at the writeup from 'KillerBee370' over at 370 .com and he is reporting +40whp gain from a bone stock 370 + Stillen HFC + Stillen Catback + another 11whp with reflash/tune for a total of +51whp!!! and there was a baseline done on this 370. I couldnt believe the numbers when I saw them!!!

Um....no. There are several entire upper plenums for the DE. Crawford made one for a while, APS makes one too....as does Kinetics (though it's not any good from what everyone says) and last, but not least....Cosworth makes an intake manifold for the DE engines.
That's just off the top of my head. Chances are I missed one.

There are many plenum mods for the DE, from spacers, and different plenums. But the guy mentioned a plenum mod for the VHR/HR when there isn't one and that is what WarmMilk was correcting.

Dude, there are NO upper Plenums for the HR or VHR engine which is what this thread is discussing. The DE stopped being made in the 350z after 06.

i said that spacers only exist for the de, implying that there aren't any "plenum mods" for the hr or the vhr
its irritating every time i hear this cause it seam like people think that just cause there is a plenum spacer mod for the de, there is a place for that in every car. i even remember reading a post of some idiot asking where he can get one for his integra... (don't remember where i read that though)

Thanks for the video and write up on some pretty impressive gains with bolt on's. May have another sample on twin 370Z's soon. Not bone stock, already have Nismo Catback exhausts on both. Will be installing Berk HFC and waiting for Injen's CAI to come out. Will be intersting to see how this combo performs.

The 2003 thru 2005 base models were slightlylighter or about the same (depending on options package). The weight went up about 150 lbs in 2006 to be slightly more than the current 370Z. I have the only version that had both the heavier weight AND the weaker engine. (2006 w/automatic tranny) FTL.

I know what my first mods will be. ![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Is it just me or the 370Z section is filled with a bunch of 350Z owners defending their Z and hating on the 370...
Why not keep this section for the 370Z enthusiast...

Ive been lurking in the 370 site after i got pwned by some 370z's stock for stock. Turns out that this kinda gain is not abnormal at all. Those guys are getting 330 whp on DYNOJET after i/hfc/e/pulley. 50+whp gain. Time to boost my HR....but give credit guys, those motors are a freakin BEAST.
