370z production to be cut 66%
Very informative. I assumed 370Z sales would be about 20,000. But 10,000 is bad news. Is the Z profitable at 10,000/units year?

+1. not many cars are moving as expected. i wouldnt say im glad these companies are struggling but they have been so greedy for so many years now its our turn to take advantage of it. prices will fall well below msrp and than its time to jump all over them.
If 20,000 or 30,000 units were made I might agree. If Nissan cuts production to 10,000, no way you will be able to find a 370Z in January 2010.
You forget, the Z was never profitable. The only reason we have the Z is the G. The shared parts and production are partially to blame for the existance of the Z again.
The 350 wasn't selling, the 370 isn't selling any better. Blame it on the economy - pure and simple. You guys are reading way too much into it.

? The smaller the supply, the higher the price. Or am I missing something.
The only reason my 350z is worth **** instead of a decent amount is because there are so many damn 350's around. My car doesn't turn heads like it use to or get the comments that it use to. I don't even feel like i'm driving around an upper tier vehicle anymore simply because any chump teenager can now get their hands on one for about 13 grand.
Bums me out.
My local dealer has had the same silver 370Z parked at the front of its lot for the past 3 months now. I personally think the price is too high at their asking price of almost $40,000
Everyone who comes into the dealership immidiatly runs over to check it out, but when push comes to shove they must end up buying an Altima...

Not a surprise, the production cut is not a reflection of the 370 itself. Rather, this is a bad time to sell cars, especially an impractical, 2-seat, rear-drive, fuel inefficient, 300+ hp sports car. Still, a 2/3 production cut is pretty steep...
