Am I the only one who thinks the 370Z looks much better than the 350?

You have to see the car in person to appreciate the styling. I love the "boomerang" headlights/taillights just because it flows much better on a sports car. That's one thing I noticed about the 350z before owning one. That is also the reason why many put eyelids on the 350z. The other reason why I think the 370z looks much better is that it resembles close to the original Z. Those fangs are a bit ugly, but I can get over it by painting them black matte. Those are not just there to look like those teeth from semi-trucks. All that being said, I would probably never own a 370z in this lifetime. Both are similar in many ways so there's not desire to own it. I would probably satisfy my other thirst by snatching up a 240sx with a vq35hr and s13 conversion front.

If someone came up to me and told me my 350 looked outdated I would laugh.. and then proceed to call them dumb.

The 370z has the potential to look better than the Z with heavy modding. It really looks much better once you've added a nice set of 20's along with a drop and lip.

Stock for stock, I'd have to say the 350z looks more natural.

There will always be something to say about the changes to the Z. When the 06 came out it was "oh those projectors in the headlight are horrible." Here we are now and just about every 03-05 owner is wanting them or has them already. Then was the 07 and "oh that hood", but it has managed to grow on many of us. I love my Z as well as any other regardless of change.

Of course if you associate a 350 with the dates it was produced, it is dated.

If the body style of the 370 came first and the engine, suspension and transmission changes of the 370 were now wrapped in the 350 body, well then wouldn't the 370 be dated?

This stuff is all very subjective and that term dated is thrown around way too much w/o really defining what it means, IMHO.
dated= dated. As in out of date, older looking.

That is how it is being used. I dont see how there is any confusion there.

The 350z was and is a beautiful car. The 370z is as well.

With the two next to each other in person......you would literally have to be blind to not see that the 350 looks bland in comparison.

It looks like the previous gen Z car.............which it is.

I think the other misconception that people are making is that dated means ugly.

The 370z looks good because it's an "evolution" of the 350z.

The current model doesn't nearly have the same road presence as the Z did when it first debuted back in late 2002.

I think time will give a nod to the more cleaner design: just look at the 240z vs. 260 and 280z right after it.

HA HA HA... The 370 isnt even close. This thread is totally opinion based for the loss. Thats like saying which is better: Sleeper or All out Attack car mods.

Personnally I think the plain Nissan 370 looka lie a$$.

The NISMO 370 by far is a better looking car. Its like someone hit someone in the face and made them rethink and they did, looks and power. 350 to the wheels, mmmmmmmmmhhhhhhmmmmm tasty factory power right there.

I agree...the 370 is an evolutionary step and just like in biology, time will tell whether it helps or hinders the species' survival.

My jaw dropped in awe when I saw my first 350 back in 2002. I can't say the same thing for the 370; partly because it resembles the 350 in body shape so that part is really not new and partly because of all the crazy visuals they introduced (crazy to me).

I was never a big fan of the Z prior to the 350. I'm not sure about the 370 being cleaner. To me it just looks "busy" like there's a lot of stuff going on without any synchronicity.

One thing I think has hindered its appearance is not Nissan's fault. The high hood line is now mandatory for safety. It's the reason the car looks like it was punched in the nose. So any future versions incorporating a wedge design approach have been mitigated. I think that's sad.

A stock 350 already has an aggressive stance. I was hoping the 370 would simply amplify the necessary parts to make it even more so. But instead they went off on this "retro" look plus some out-of-the-blue additions that don't tie it all together.

I think the shape of the 350 with exaggerated fenders, wider wheels/tires, a coupe shaped roof and more of a wedge shaped hood would have been much more appealing. It would have made the car look like it's wound up and ready to strike like a crouching cat instead of what was finally released.

The shape of the lights have nothing to do with the design of the car. They are obviously an attempt on Nissan's part to create a unique and quickly recognized appearance to set Nissan cars apart from other brands. It's simply a theme feature.

I own a 350 and test drove the 370 in case anyone wants to know.

I actually like the lights a lot now. I didn't at first but now they look aggressive and sleek to me. Gives the Z a very distinctive look.

You can definitely tell it is an evolution of the 350Z. What I find interesting is that some people say the 370Z is so ugly while the 350Z is so beautiful but when you see a 370Z coming down the road it looks like a modified 350Z at first glance. And I am not the only one who has said that. So how can a car that is so ugly look similar to a car that is so beautiful?

If you lost the fangs, lights and lowered it. It might look about the same.

It looks like an ugly catfish right now.

Yeh, when you see the two next to each other on the lot the 350Z looks a little dated, oops, I mean old, or whatever.

I think the 03-05s look dated. But the 06-08s still look perfect, especially with a Nismo V1 spoiler on the rear.

Exactly, it's pretty clear. Put both next to each other and the 350z looks dated. Simple.
