Am I the only one who thinks the 370Z looks much better than the 350?

The 370Z overall wasn't anywhere near as exciting or good looking as the 350z's release since the 370Z more or less looks like a 350 with a body kit on it. When the 350 came out it really turned a lot of heads and to this day ppl don't know wtf it is other than its 'cool'.
That said the 370 is still a great ride. I have a feeling that midway through its life-cycle when it gets an exterior revision it'll look even better.

I think the 370Z looks much more than a 350Z with a body kit. You can tell it has been shortened at the rear, making the hood appear longer, like the original Z's. The way the hatch curves down is too like the original Z. The stance is wider with bigger flares adding more of a presence. The lines are curvy instead of sharp like the outgoing model. The headlights and taillights have been tightened up and detailed adding more style than the simple geometry of the 350Z's.
All this while keeping some 350Z lineage intact. Quite and accomplishement in my opinion. Bringing back the 240Z lines while keeping the 350Z DNA there.
Finally, I have to defer on the assessment that the 370Z is not as good looking upon its release. I think it looks much better.

finally felt the 370 up close n personal today. Sigh, its just so aggressive and futuristic.
i drove a volvo for a couple years...so the 350 still wins a place in my heart no matter what <3.

Ha! I think it's worse now because some people have spent 10 minutes driving it and are therefore experts in evaluating it's capabilities. The magazines love it, so I'm thinking it's a great car. I recall the magazines loving our car and they were right about that too. Nissan totally did the unexpected with the 370- lighter, faster, higher equipment/technology content than the previous model. Who does that anymore for a 30k car? It's a great development on a car that started out lean and agile, gained weight to become a grand tourer and then went back to it's roots. What would you rather have? A torque-less S2000? A "check the gas and fill the oil" RX-8? A fat and stupid rental car Mustang? And if you've got the cash to spend $55k on a Cayman and didn't buy a lightly used 911, I don't even want to talk to you.

side by side always show off how fat it looks compared to a 350z...the styling is growing on me, yet the chunkyness isn't. If they did the styling upgrade with the same platform now that would of been stunning...

i drove a 370.....own a 350....at 6ft it took me many minutes to figure out how to get in and out of the 370 without bending my neck out of shape.......to be honest....i would love to swap the 370 engine into my 350......anybody got any idea what the hassle and costs would be????..........

OOo i'm going to two tone the front soon.
Insurance covered my front bumper from someone backing into me, but they only covered the white paint. The black would have been out of my own pocket, so i'm waiting to get sideskirts and rear add ons before i get everything painted black (plus roof).
i post pics as soon as its done

The 350Z is not the car it is solely because it showed up after an extended absence. The car looks nothing like its predecessors (even remotely) and stands on its own. You cannot say that about the 370 which is a hybrid of sorts.

How? I see hints of the 240 and a lot of influence from the 350 in the overall shape. It sorta looks like a 350 but not really. As noted above, they lost the coupe look and reintroduced the Jaguar wannabe shape that the 240 was based on (even the original designer of the 240 admitted he was a big fan of the Jag).
Some of the lesser features (such as the fangs and boomerangs) stand out simply because they don't tie in with anything else on the car. The fangs give the car a face, the boomerangs...well, they're just there and many interpretations have been presented.
I think what attracts attention to the car is the visual confusion it creates. You can never really conclude what the car looks like. It's like a quilt with little patches of everything all sewn together but it has no real individuality...just reminders of other cars or things out of the blue like the lights.
Internally the confusion continues with the layout of the instrumentation. No flow at all in spite of the improved materials. One step forward, one back.

I'm actually glad there are more than a few people out there who truly love the Z34 design. It just means Nissan will continue to do well.
But considering how fresh, clean and distinctive the Z33 design was in 2002, I only hoped the Z34 would have been "better".
