I'm looking at a 370z right now. Given that I prefer F1 to Nascar, I will likely test drive one with an AT. Hate away...

I've been an active member of the 370 community for about 8 months now, yes it is proven, the 7AT is faster to 60 and in the 1/4 mile, I own the 6MT and kinda kicked myself in the a$$ for a bit for not buying one. But im a sports car purist, and a manual is an absolute must. The 12.8 1/4 mile that Z Eliminator posted is the fastest so far with stock wheels/tires, I think the fastest time slip proven 6MT is 13.1. However, the AT has been proven to suffer from alot of drivetrain loss when the supercharger/TT's were added and will not be able to handle as much power as the MT. Here's Z Eliminators thread for his track times, make it a sticky, hes already ordered the GTM kit and he'll probably be in the Mid 11's within a month or so.

just add "the 370z" after the www

Just dynoed one before TT kit and it laid down 272rwhp. Crazy power for an auto compared to 278rwhp on a 6spd.

LoL!.. I doubt he will get out that early. Weather is warming up, but not close to being clean or warm enough for track...

Im just waiting for the 305/35/18 mickey thompson drag radials 11. The price on them went through the roof and im going to have to get them in the USA. The headers and underdrive pulleys have also been installed now. It should go low 12.6's now. The last dyno it made 297.8 rwhp (sae) (tag motorsports in oakville) It will be dynoed this week to see if the headers and pulley make any more power. GTM is building me a 2900 rpm stall torque converter, should be here in a few weeks. Toronto Motor sports open's April 2 or 3rd so i will be going there. All I want is a nice day 55 degress and a track temp of 90. No update on the GTM VB for the 370. The car will also be lighter than before.
Will keep you guys posted.

you remember the torque #? I'm thinking that the AT may have an edge over the MT in torque.

Is this like the time when my parents "promised me" that Santa was real?

I can assure you that you're way of thinking is being done incorrectly.

When it comes to what some of us define as a better driving experience, the MT > AT.

When it comes to whom would be faster, the AT > MT.

I have the 7spd automatic and shifting using manual mode or paddle shifters is very responsive.

I agree that MT is greater driving experience than the AT

Nissan needs to bring up the torque, I honestly feel like my 03 350 had way more torque than my 370.
