+ 370z vs bolted 350z HR +
What he said. If your driving a Z, you could have afforded a srt 4 and the mods to make it smash most cars in a straight line. You bought the Z because of the total package it represents to you. Enjoy it for what it is, aside from people on forums and die hard racers, most people dont care about your track times. The few weeks I have owned my HR, you know what the first thign 99 percent of people (inlcuding my wife, who knows little about cars) says about my Z? How much they love my orange seats. thats your common denominator.

First defensive argument: blame the driver for sucking.
Second defensive argument: relate that your own car has never lost to said car.
Third defensive argument: state that with turbo or supercharger, your preference car will smoke the other car.

I think a de is faster than an hr which is faster than a 370z which is faster than an R35 which is faster than an r390, which is faster than a neutrino, all of which are slower than a Datsun 280.
However, this is about what I'd expect if it was a 350Z(13.7) vs 370Z(13.0) though. The Road & Track with pro drivers says there is about .7 a difference in the quarter mile.
I know my 370Z seems to be a LOT faster than my 350Z. About as fast as my LS1 before it was supercharged and not as fast as my LS1 Vette. But, about on par with a 2010 Camaro or older F-Body car with stock motor. I never thought of my 350Z as anything but a really quick sports car that was easy to use on a daily basis... unlike a Vette or F-Body. Those big cars with big doors such on a daily driver.
Except when it gets cold and with drag radials heated really good and NISMO rear ends, plenums etc... You might get a 13.1 from time to time if you stage deep.
You must have one of those factory freaks... Congrats !!!! I'm impressed !!!

Begining to agree with you.... I've owned both cars and I'm telling you guys the 370Z is quicker factory stock to factory stock.

Now, with that being said ... You can buy a 350VHR and put a few hundered in the car and make it faster than a 370Z easily. However, legally drive it on the street .... I'm not sure. But, that isn't the point.
I think exhaust, NISMO rear geared down just a tad, plenum, drag radials and piggyback CPU would do the trick though.

Hey Z's are great cars .... Enjoy the ride guys !!!!
My 350z before i sold it had Intake, exhaust and my friends 370z had K&n drop in filters and an exhaust. We did a 3rd gear pull on the highway and he pulled away.
My 350z was also lightened by 200+ pounds.
The 370Z hands down is faster stock vs stock it has 50hp more then the DE motor and is basically the same weight. Plus vs the DE the motor revs up 1000RPMS more.
Its odd seeing arguements on which one is faster as the 370z is just a shortened 350Z with more power....
