In fact no one is hating, just saying that it isn't necessarily worth the upgrade from an '08...and well...it really isn't worth the extra $10k.
Take a chill pill yall.

no i know you werent, and actualy this thread isnt nearly as bad as the " i hate the 370z " thread , lol....
im chill .... it just boggles my mind because the cars despite what us Z guys say/think are very similar... I get "thats a hot 350..." all the time from random bozo's .... it just confuses me why most 350z guys need to belittle the 370...
HRs are comparable in speed , i do agree with that... only a smidge slower.. and looks are subjective to the owner or buyer...
I was at a Z meet the other day and a guy with an 06 350z asked me if I thought he should upgrade to a 370z. My first question to him was do you own yours? He said yes, than I said no , dont upgrade... I agree its not worth the added expense if you own your Z but if you were buying one tomorrow and the HR Z was priced 10k lower.... yea its a steal if you dont care for the 370 looks... but if you like the "newest" or love the look of the Z , I dont think its a bad decision to spend the extra 10k... just my .02

370z is just kind of disappointing overall. When the 350z first came out it could hold it's own against a similarly priced Mustang GT. Now a similarly priced Camaro SS, or a 5.0 GT will spank a 370 and if you're driving a Nismo your shitty brakes won't last on a track. Better to buy a used 350 for 16K and spend the other 25K+ to mod it.

A camaro SS is a 12.9 car and doesnt handle nearly as well as the 370z... guys have went 12.9 stock in AT 370s and i think 13.0 or 13.1 is best stock 6M... the 5.0 is a good performer but I would still take the 370z over it 6 out of 7 days a week...
just because a car is slightly faster in a straight line doesnt make it a better car, AT ALL ....

I currently do not own 350z nor 370z (sold mine a 3 years ago for minivan for my 1st son). I plan to buy a Z soon. The only 370Z i would get is nismo one. I can't seem to get used to the 2 front bumper fangs on regular 370z...it just too damn ugly.

I just bought a 06 revup, 55k miles, no oil consumption from a member here a couple months ago for 16k cash. It came with 6 Piston Baer brakes front and rear, X02 exhaust and Cosworth intake manifold, and Seibon Cf hood. I just bought a vortech supercharger off another member and getting it installed next month. I spent about 21k to have a car that's faster than a 35k 370. Don't feel too bad for me.

only the NEW mustang will take my 370. Camaros are nothing with only bolt ons...
Alot of 350 guys hate on the 370 cause they cant afford it. thats the sad truth

guys the car has a few short comings stock, but can easily be taken care of with the right mods... never was there so much Z hate between different model Zs... Everyone is entitled to there opinion though, and just because the new 5.0 mustang is a much better machine doesnt mean they bash all the 4.6s to no end... I sometimes wonder if the people like the OP in this thread even test drove one, or he just wants to start another 370 bashing...
And if you think this is "Z bashing", head over to 3zc and tell everyone you have a Z31 and it's better than the Z32...
To those saying we can't afford it: It's a 35-40k car. The 350 MSRP was right around there. I'm looking for a second car, I wouldn't try to sell the 350 now.

The price thing is understandable since a lot of people are buying an '03 for around $12k these days. Thats crazy. But I bought mine new, with full knowledge the 370 was out (I snatched up a brand new '08 after talking the dealer down to $25k just as the 370's were rolling in.) Better bang for the buck imo, but mine looks rather...mundane parked next to a 370 lol. Anyways 10k for mods for me tt coming up when I can justify it.
And what's this about camaro's being better then a 370? Those things have so much weight that they feel like they might flip over when taking a corner, I hate it. Drove the 5.0 stang. Boring, slower than any z i've been in except maybe a non-revup automatic stock de, and more expensive than a 370 yet not as attractive. The tranny was the only redeeming quality, but then there's SynchroRev lol. Ford Fail.

I don't even consider straight line times. Who can go faster in a straight line to me is kind of retarded. A well balanced car is more important. I subscribe to Car and Driver and they do the annual hot laps at VIR. The Camaro and the Mustang GT embarassed the Nismo 370, and the Nismo crashed into the wall because of crappy brakes.

When I first saw the 370 I thought it was beautiful, I'm one of the few that actually like that it has a sharkteeth. I was actually considering buying the nismo. The only hard part was convincing my wife. I don't know how a 370 is not affordable, put a down payment and get a loan It's not like trying to buy a ferrari.

pretty sure car and driver crashed due to ice mode, which occurs when the abs reacts wrong to hard breaking into a corner or whatnot... and creates very low brake force and can be very dangerous... many cars with modern day abs experience including 350z's . corvettes, etc... the more bite the pad has the more likely it is to occur... the guys who track the 370z experiment with different pad setups and can control it to an extent... A 370z will eat a 350z around a track I guarantee that, and car and driver is VERY prejudiced against the 370z, are there any other publications that compared the two on a track ?
I came from a 03 g35 with the brembos and my akebono brakes are no doubt superior in braking capabilities... I am sure of that...

350zs are more tail happy and to me are less confidence insirping.. the 370z is a lot more controllable through corners and way more predictable... I live with my brother and he has an 03, he says he likes his steering feel better and loves his Z to death, and does know that my car does handle better, but he says his 350 is more fun too... But Im imagining if you got used to the 370z and its limits you would feel the same about the 370 if you drove it daily like you all do your 350z's
if anyone is on Long Island and wants to meet up to compare an HR to my 370z id love to see the diff. Not because I think mines way better, mostly because I honestly have never really been in or next to a HR 350z, My brothers 03 has full bolt ons basically and its def a fun, quick car, but I have never been in an HR to compare to mine... Any of you guys go to the wed great kneck Z meet with an HR ?
I know of andre with his quick HR Z and we have plans to eventually head to the track together.. my car taps abot 2-3mph faster than his but he pulls great 60s and runs on slicks and his HR time is better than mine but through PMs and such we have been discussing and I may even see if he would want to run my car down the strip... I consider myself to be a very good driver, but he seems to be a seasoned pro at the strip so I cant wait to go with him to the track to see the differences in the 1/8 and 1/4 and where my car or his car pulls .... HR 350z are def capable cars... I do not doubt that. But with the right tire setup my 370z with 4.08s, LTH, exhaust , instake, flywheel , an up rev should be a 12.3-5 car on a perfect day ( weather, DA, etc) ...
A guy with my mods went 12.2@112 in his 6 speed 370z... It takes a lot to get the new camaros and even the 5.0 that quick... so the Z is def capable to compete against that... HR 350's and 370z's!!

Personally I don't hate the 370. It just has a lot of growing to do on me still. I've seen a few done right and they can look outstanding. However, when they first came out, i was disgusted with the appearance.
I could have bought one as opposed to my 07 grand touring, but prefer the looks of the 350 more.
Fact is, a lot of 350 guys hate on the 370 simply because they hate it. I'd assume mainly because of the appearance. CASE CLOSED
