My family has close family friend who is a mechanic. He and I were talking about 350z's (the car I wanted to get), and he said he sees a ton of them around 70k miles that need new engines.
It's only the same as any car, any brand, if it's not properly serviced and isn't feed the proper fluids it won't be as reliable. People cut costs, and then sell because the cost cutting has reaped them mechanical problems.
Mr Sparco has given you one link, there is also another link too that is relevant. Best way to figure it out for yourself is have a good read of the forum.

Does this hold true for 370z's as well?
Since 1995 when this engine came out as a 3 liter, it has been voted as the best V6 ever made. In 2003 that engine increased to 3.5 liter. Both engines were good for 300k with very little maintenence. The 3.5 was the engine chosen for the 2003 Z. In 2007 & 2008 the Z got a much more improved version of that engine. The 07 & 08 V6 is the best V6 ever. It has a bit less H.P than the 370, but is better build(trouble free) than the 370.

That's probably quite a bold statement given the 370 has only been around 4 years +, and although there are a few niggles making themselves known, same as there was with the 350's earlier on, it takes a bit of time before all faults are known.
(I've had my 350 from brand new, 9 years, and been heavily involved with the community for a long time, not just 350's, all Zeds, seen most of the failings with all models).
Most people buy Jap cars for their general reliability, and cheaper servicing (ok, some of them actually look and go rather well). Bang for buck, they're a good car.
We've all been new once upon a time. Lots to learn and soak up.

You edited my post like MSNBC edits their news. Why don't you post what I really said, what you omitted....
