New HIDs
Hey guys I have a 2012 370z and am looking to do a led changeover (already completed) and put in a higher Kelvin HID. I do not want to stray from the factory ballast and as most of you should know it uses a factory D2S 4300k HID. I want to go about a 6000k but again I don't want to go away from the factory ballast. I have tried a few different kinds (Kensun, Xentec, etc.) but with each of those they bulb has trouble ignighting. It flashes briefly and goes out. If I toggle my headlights a few times they finally ignite and work normally. I have been looking at some Philips Ultinon 6000k on ebay. The ultinons are supposedly fully operational without flaw with your factory ballasts and yes they throw a pretty price tag on them as well. I am aware there are fake out there but also real deals. I want to know what you guys experiences are with these and if you can tell me how to tell they difference in real and fake Ultinons. The ones I found on eBay were marked down well off the normal price but the picture looks legit. The link is:

From what i have read the biggest way to tell between real and fake is the red "salt" in the bulb. Fake bulbs are whitish, not red. The ones in the pic have the red salt and the seller has great reviews and says they are genuine but the price is very low. Please help.

I'm trying to avoid the hassle I have already been through the process several times in the past few weeks. So please give info on the Philips Ultinon D2S bulb. I posted the URL and yes I checked, it works. Copy and paste and it will pull up either the page or the Google list and it is the first item on eBay. I realize there are other bulbs but I only want info on this one. Is the bulb in the URL I am looking at a legit Ultinon or no. The price is awesome and if its a legit deal then yes i will buy it.Thanks

*I'm tired or ordering bulbs that don't work, waisting time and money, and then send it back leaving me in the same place I started. Changing headlights isn't something I enjoy doing every week.

If you want real Ultinons I suggest getting them from theretrofitsource.com sure you may have to pay a bit more but you'll have peace of mind knowing they're real. Those in the link you posted are obviously fake like 99% of all high end bulbs on ebay. Think about it who would sell a $200 pair of bulbs for a 1/4 of the price?

The reason why you're having problems it's cause the 370z uses the matsushita Gen 5 ballast which are notorious for having problems igniting cheap aftermarket bulbs. But like I said if you really want Ultinons get them from the retrofit source
