Well, our fears about the car are unfortunately validated. It's no longer a sports car but rather a sporty GT.
When the Z33 came out in 03, it was a rival to the Mustang, Camaro, hell even the Vette didn't have that much performance over it. It certainly outperformed JDM competitors. When the HR motor came, the car was just awesome.
I'm not mad, just disappointed. It's not even cheap anymore.

Interesting perspective. This may sound strange but I have never considered the 33 a “sportscar”, more a “very responsive and capable grand tourer” but I guess when compared to my other car, a true Grand Tourer, the Z FEELS more “sports like”.

But honestly, to put things in perspective, my daily will run circles around my Z and the e-suspension just works so the Z IS a GT, not sports. Haha!! 😆

I agree with both of you, I call the Z a sports car cause it is one at heart but in essence Nissan even calls it a GT car. Mic I'll ask you this...isn't a GT car supposed to be more comfortable than the Z?
Anyhow, I didn't really like their video on it because I feel like it was made for teenagers. I'll post a more significant (IMO) comparison.

I'll hold my judgement until Randy Probst gets a chance to drive a US spec model. Keep in mind, car companies tune engines and suspensions differently for different countries. I never pay any attention to foreign reviews.

I guess. My daily is certainly more comfortable than my Z. That car I drive in it. The Z, closer to "wearing it" so I guess it's closer to a true sports car. But when I think about a "sports cars", I tend to think of it as unruly, not a great car to commute in, a relatively good P:W ratio. Debatable (but overall, not a big deal distinction).

I purchased my 07HR from Nissan of Bellevue. Well, 15 years later, I can purchase another Z from them, only $100K more than what I paid in 07. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2023...up-washington/

Why would ANYONE pay that for bragging rights lasting about, oh, two days (if that)? Shee, for that price it had better have a VIN ending in "001". (My remaining 33 is the 381st one built for USDM.)

Two years ago this month, car was introduced to the world.

Still ain't seen one in the wild. In person, yes, on the street, driven by a buyer, nope. And when I do, I'll say, "Great, new Z. Now what else was I getting in the produce department?"

It's not bad but it certainly isn't great either. This would have been a healthy number 15 years ago, maybe even 10. But not when it's contemporaries have more power, better suspension and more aggressive tires. And i'm not talking about the styling/parts bin from 2003/8 either.
The Zupra makes more power, 240i, Mustang, Camaro, etc. Sometimes you have to call a spade a spade, this is no longer a aspirational sports car that is attainable.

More dream renderings. Zzzzzzzzz...... Real one on the street with stock bodywork please.

Until Nismo officially releases one, this is just another masturbatory also-ran.
