Default Considering used 2013 370Z touring - vibrations - tranny mount and driveshaft?

My young son is considering ti from a new car dealer's used car lot. 2013 Touring with 54K miles. Trying to protect the boy ;^) Im a pretty good DIYer - several used cars and lots on driveway mechanic jobs. Dealer said they needed to replace tranny mount. Right off, that sounds a little odd at 54K, or normal for this vehicle? Today they called and said the new mount didnt solve "noticeable vibration felt under seat". They are now replacing entire drive shaft (becausde U-Joint cant be replaced on its own?) Again, seems odd, u-joint requires full driveshaft?

Im feeling kind of suspect at this point because one cant know how long previous owner drove wth the driveline vibration. And I would preume prolonger vibration takes a toll on tings around it, and maybe tranny itself?

Dont know much about these vehicles though...

Any input appreciated.

Doubt it's the u-joint at 54k, but it's not normally serviceable and the whole driveshaft replacement is the only option under normal circumstances; you can change it, but no shop is going to do it for you.
Sounds like you are getting . . .shafted.
I wouldn't pay for anything that didn't fix the issue.
Probably got a bad wheel balance.

Wow, that's a lot of issues for a 2013 model. I'd be hesitant too. Have you considered looking at a different 370Z or maybe even a newer model? Sometimes it's worth spending a bit more upfront to avoid headaches later.

UPDATE!!!! Sorry for the delayed reply. Funny story, kind of. That dealer had two Nissan Z's on the lot (1991 300 and a 2013 370). And when my son called he and the saleman were both discussing different cars! My son asked about the 370 and the salesman was referring to the 1991 300 at each call. The 300 had the tranny mount and driveshaft issue. We discovered this when we showed up for the test drive and they had the 1991 out front all cleaned up and ready to go.

We did end up getting the 2013 370Z, for which I have questions which I will ask in a new thread.

I do appreciate the replies.
