Uhh of course I know about the heritage of the GT-R always having a TT but you can't exactly have bragging rights when you have FI, whether it's factory or not.

And why the hell would some dude in a $250K Ferrari F-430 give two ***** about a GT-R? ; much less be happy one is trailing along with them.
He's got a hand built car that's rare and carries a long prestige. The gt-r is a largely assembly lined produced car coming from a japanese company that makes 4 banger grocery getters.

The GT-R doesnt eclipse ****, lets not downgrade a ferrari or other exotic, just to maintain a false sense of nissan loyalty.

Not to hate of the GT-R but its got no business with that group, and its really lame to tag along
+1

Go back and read your posts son!! You said
And why not? The whole point of the GT-R's bragging rights is that it can do what most V12 cars can't, all with a V6. The 911 GT3 has a 6 cylinder engine, and the M6 as a V10... but which would you rather be driving? I thought so.
And I said the how can the GT-R have bragging rights against NA cars especially a GT3? I never said anything about rice.

I mean the GT-R is no doubt a great performer but to say it has BRAGGING rights against the NA cars you listed is a freaking joke. Keep on with your nut hugging.

If anything the drivers of those exotics should be happy that the mighty GT-R is even hanging with them. Just to let you know the reason the RSX does not belong in a Z crowd is because it pales in comparison performance-wise. The GT-R on the other hand eclipses the other cars in that video.
GTR is a 5 digit car, it doesn't cost more than 100,000 MSRP. Also, it DOES NOT belong there because it just doesn't have the same "prestige" as other cars in that group. Performance is not everything for an exotics, it also need certain level of "prestige" to be in there. People buy exotics for that very reason because they offer them something that can't be judge by numbers on paper.

Let put it is way, a Ferrari F430 doesn't really belong in the group of Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, Ferrari 250 GTO, Jaguar E-type,and Lamborghini Miura. Sure the F430 could outperform all these cars, but it just doesn't belong in these very exclusive class...it just not rare enough.

the way i see it, people are comparing the GTR with these exotics in different perspectives. One being performance. The other being price. And lastly presence/rarity.

Now, the problem is, the so called "nut-huggers" are comparing the GTR with exotics on the first two perspectives. They are not nut-huggers, but they just have a different outlook on the vehicle. They say that for a third of the price, you are getting better performance than most of those vehicles. which is a valid statement and true. So in from their perspective, the GTR does belong.

Others make the comparison on presence and rarity, and price as well. The italian machines are hand made, much more rare, and they make jaws drop when you drive by. That along with a $200-300 thousand dollar price tag, which most people can't afford. Not only that but these things stand out in a crowd. They are very low, with low rooflines, loud exhausts, etc etc. So in these peoples perspective, a GTR does not belong.

So you what you people have to tell us when stating your opinion is what perspective you are comparing it to. Here is mine:

The GTR in terms of performance belongs with all these cars. If we were all just performance enthusiasts though... than you would have to say that a Corvette Z06, Viper, and Porsche Turbo belong in that group of cars as well. But honestly, everyone on here can answer this question simply.... would you rather be in a Nissan or a Lamborghini/Ferrari? Most people take this the wrong way. You are comparing a Nissan and a LAMBORGHINI here people!!!! If people asked me would i take a GTR vs M3/S5 than i would say GTR. And most of the time, people who take the M3 or S5 take it because they either A)do no not care for performance but more looks or B) have badge loyalty to german/italian cars. So those in this thread who are criticizing others for having BADGE loyalty, please give it up. You know you'd all take a Lambo over a Nissan. And i'm not saying that because Nissan is bad, but because its a Lambo/Ferrari! not just some other car. I love the GTR and for the money its the best car. But you can't compare it to exotics IN TERMS of looks, sound, sex appeal, etc. IN TERMS of performance though, you can.

Hmm...very surprised to see so much anit-fanboism here....glad to see it though.

My take on it...I don't really see the problem with a cheaper car tagging along. I highly doubt the Ferrari/Lamborghini owners care as some of you make it seem...they're just out there to drive and have a good time, and I would imagine that a select few of non-exotic owners (most likely friends of someone else in the convoy) are more than welcome to join in on the fun...an M3, Z06, GT-R or Carrera S is, afterall, special in its own right. I don't feel ashamed in my GTO when in the company of friends with Porsches and whatnot...so long as I was invited...nobody likes a party crasher.

The GT-R is a $70-80k sports car and not exactly something to scoff at, regardless of whether or not you drive a Ferrari. It would be like someone in a Brioni suit looking down on someone in a Brooks Brothers suit...they're both fantastic and expensive suits in their own right and are both regarded as nicer than your average suits. But although one does certainly take it to the next level of quality and is twice or even three times the price of an already very expensive suit ($3000 vs. 1,500), it does not mean it's two times the car, regardless of how special you may think it is. A Ferrari, to most owners with the means to buy one, is JUST another car...and there are many wealthy people that will choose other cars over them, including M3's and Vettes and GT-R's...because they simply don't care to have a Ferrari.
