Porsche accuses Nissan of cheating...

Top Gear'S own lap times: (I know, there's still a hundred variables, but this seems consistent with what others have found)
Also, If I do wind up buying a GTR, I realize that times will still come down to my own sorry-a$$ driving skills.
The list [from gtrblog.com/index.php/2008/07/20/top-gear-season-11-nissan-gt-r-on-the-to-1?blog=4]

Here’s the top 20 of the Top Gear test track power board:
1:17.3 – Ascari A10

BTW, I am not saying that it's not possible for Nissan to have cheated in some way.
Look at their HP rating system for 2006 and older cars... in 2007, they had to start using actual SAE ratings.
They built an all-new 3.5 engine for 2007 why??? So they would not get caught "cheating" by the public.
Nissan says: "Oh... the all-new 07 [HR] engine has "6" more HP than the 06 rev-up DE due to the dual intakes"
That's why the 07 car is ~.5 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile. Right! GTFO!
My HR on the same dyno as my wife's 06 rev-up made almost FOURTY more HP up top - i am not talking Peak HP. Peak HP was "only" a 30-hp difference.
Nissan cheats. I still like the GTR Though.

Sour grapes? Maybe Porsche should take this as a wake up call.
