Default First blown VR38DETT

I don't think this is a repost but it seems as though Haltech blew the first GTR motor....

The Haltech GT-R was definitely not stock from the blogs I've read although I have no idea of all of the mods that were done. It did have the Haltech EMS at least.

Thats not a good sign--however this could depend on any myriad factors.

Wow engine was stock. Oh well thats what happens when you race. There is no reason why the GT-R motor wont blow up. The 2JZ which is capable of the highest HP ever recorded on a stock block will blow up eventually as well, so the VR isn't going to be a whole lot different.

If you're going to try to use big words, at least use proper sentence structure.

the guy says that the first and third pistons have split in half. This apparently happens form overrevving or the motor being pushed to it maximum power limits. So it seems like mid 500whp appear to be the limit so far of the gtr. I bet some shop somewhere will come with better tuning and they will pull more out of it.

i suppose if you remove the rev limiter, you can run the RPMs past redline and blow you engine... perhaps that may have happended.

do you see the ambivalence of my post? i say "so far" meaning till this point. I dont define anything. there might be better tuners being able to extract more. I really hope the GTR to be able to handle at least 650 - 700wph. Let see.

Probably more than the transmission.

They made it in Space Mountain.

So he cost of modding a GTR is:
selling price of GTR + $20,000 to replace transmission + $20,000+ to replace engine + $ for mods

wrong. they made it OUT OF space mountain, drilled out the material from deep within the mountain.
