Forged Performance was fortunate enough, to be invited to this year's Modified Magazine Tuner Shootout with our GT-R!
As David Pratte from from Modified Magazine writes, "Just like the previous two years, Modified Mag’s third annual Tuner Shootout event will be a no-holds-barred competition where the fastest tuner cars go head-to-head in the most popular and accessible forms of motorsport, namely 1/4-mile drag, autocross, and time attack, plus a power test on the dyno. The car that posts the highest score in these four events combined will be crowned as Modified’s Tuner Shootout overall Champion. We will also crown a winner in each of the three drivetrain configuration classes: FWD, AWD, and RWD.
We are not aiming to conduct a scientific test or evaluation of each car nor are we interested (for the purposes of this event) in things like comfort, style, emissions or street-worthiness. Our vision for the Shootout is for it to be a pure and unadulterated slugfest where the best tuners bring out their fastest machinery so that our readers and the entire sport compact industry can see what’s possible when the gloves come off and the only thing that matters is speed. To make this possible, we’ve invited the best of the best from the tuner industry to showcase your team’s abilities over 2 days of motorsports mayhem at UMS Tuning (dyno) and Firebird International Raceway (autocross, drag and time attack) in the Phoenix, AZ area on April 10th and 11th, 2009."
Last year's Cobb Tuning's moderately modified GT-R took home 3rd place overall, so we are looking to continue the tradition of podium finishes for the GT-R.
Will Taylor (Underpressure) will be serving as co-driver, and crew chief, and helping us get everything ready for the 1800 mile road trip to Phoenix. Him and I will be loading our trailer with 4 days worth of supplies, and spares, and driving straight to Phoenix. We figure we can make it in 27 hrs with stops just for diesel/bathroom/food, and switching off between sleeping and driving duties. Doesn't this sound like fun?![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

The key to winning, is consistency in all 4 disciplines. Oftentimes, the uber-power gutted machines break down, and it destorys their score. I think we should do pretty well. The GT-R will run 10's all day long, and it's impossible to miss a shift...LOL.

Nice, should be great weather for you guys as well, during the days for the past few months here we've been seeing mid 50's to low 70's consistently.
Hopefully I can make it out to see Forged throwing down some buttocks-whooping.
