^^^There are some new gears that are starting to show up recently. Don't know how much they cost to buy and swap out.
Keep this in mind. You upgrade the gears, then what breaks next?
It's really an endless proposition. If it's mechanical it will break that is a fact.

I think the point here is that Nissan is restricting the owners to using the vehicles as a grocery getter instead of what they were designed for.

This dudes quote was right on too:
I can't wait to see the owner's agreement on the V-spec, which I'm sure will simply read:
"Warning: turning ignition to the 'on' position WILL void your manufacturer's warranty of this vehicle.
Please note that this is a high performance automobile that will torturously rattle and squeak until it drives you to levels of insanity that would have the whole operation shut down if this vehicle were to exist on a military installation on the Island of Cuba.
We hope you enjoy your new vehicle
Thank you,
Nissan Motor Company"

No Nissan is worth $85k anyway. You can buy a M3 for 65k ell equip and I'm told right now if your sharp take $10k off MSRP. Then again a Porsche carrera S is just a bit more and you will get more back on resale then the Nissan in 3 years

We should start a poll to see who guesses what breaks next. Props to John Turbo, he's out there pushing the limits.

I can understands Nissan's point about voiding a warrenty if you knowingly abuse a car.
For example the guys who go out and do 20 launches in a row. Thats just stupidity.
But say you turn your VDC off for a twisty road. Why in any way should that void the warrenty surrounding the engine, suspension, or gearbox, especailly since there is no launch control any more.
Yea if you veer of the road and hit a wall its your fault and if the transmission craps the bed after hitting something its your fault for the most part, unless a tire fell off or something causing the crash.
Nissan needs to have someone come out and explain this to people. I think if they are reasonable people will understand and be happy. But to simply put a statement together say "You have purchased a high performace super car, now don't use it what it was intended for" that is rediculous.
Its a slap in the face to buyers in my opinion.
Wait so you can't redline a Lambo....?????

The Japanese just have not learned how to sell sports cars to Americans yet. Thats why Toyata stopped selling the Supra. The GTR is Awsome and amazing, if you are a real track junkie. My father has had all sorts of battles with exotic car dealers trying to void warranties on him. They tried to void the warranty on his Lambo for adding plain water to the coolant system after it started leaking five miles after leaing the dealership. They voided sections of his warranty for using after market rims that were much lighter and better, even though they had the same factory offsetts dia and width.

Parts were $1,500. I am not sure if that is the PPG shaft and gear only or if this includes fluid(s) as well.
I Have no idea how many hours it took to pull the transmission to replace the gear and shaft.
For the sake of argument let's say it's a 12 hour job (pulling a time out of my butt), then it's $1,500 (PPG parts only....again for the sake of argument) + $1,200 (labor @ $100/hour) + $500 (miscellaneous other parts/fluids)........say around $3,200 or so?
I'd be real interested to see how long it took Samurai Speed to pull, switch out, and reinstall the transmission and make whatever adjustments they needed to. In any case it's far less than the $15,000 - $20,000 estimated costs to replace a GT-R transmission.
