Default Next Gen GTR

Now that the current R35 generation is starting to its age what would you guys like to see in a next gen GT-R. Supposedly Nissan will use its le-mans race car to gain inspiration for it. Do you guys think the hybrid power-train will carry down?

Yes, I think the hybrid powertrain will definately end up in the next gtr! I wouldn't doubt nissan trend setters will have a hybrid Z car(maybe next generation at latest). It makes the Z car too expensive for now, but the GTR is to be the super car killer and that is the direction porsche, mclaren, and ferrari are going so far, hybrid!

Less weight more power etc. The vette gained weight across the board. I hope the gtr stays the same weight or get a lighter.

Let's just post that link up:

While this is an official Nissan teaser shot, there's no other info on what exactly, this is. We'll know more as they provide more details in coming weeks...

If they do decide to go with a hybrid power train, I doubt the next gen will lose any weight. What if they where to put one or two of these in the next gen, imagine all the possibilities. http://www.autoblog.com/2014/01/28/n...r-race-engine/

Kinda a down side of the current GTR, it is kinda a pig. C7 Z06 will be 3400 ish. The GTR (depending on edition and year) is 3800 ish. It will need to lose some weight and get a pretty hefty bump in power to play with what is out there now. That being said, I doubt this will be less than $100k with all of the above.

Recently, there has been a development of hybrid batteries that use flowing oxygen and can endure a longer charge. Since Tesla opened their patents, I see a bunch of options available to builders of Super Hybrids. Can't wait to se what the future hold for Nissan.

Pretty much what I think.

Current car is already 3,800#, it doesn't need more weight with batteries on board.

Big diet, shorter wheelbase, maybe even a (shock) deletion of the back seats. More aero work, give us a real working diffuser.

I think the hollow taillights are an interesting concept. Nice diffuser. Very low car..........looks smaller with no back seat.

That front though is pretty funky.

I don't think this Concept 2020 design gives us a realistic "sneak peak" of what the next gen GT-R will truly look like within the near future (the next couple years). That concept for 2020 is cool, but what about the next 6 years before then? I expect the next gen GT-R will look significantly different once it is officially released.

Yeah, concept cars mean nothing. Look at the original GTR concept car in 2001 compared to what it looked like when it came out. Or how about the 350z concept car that looked like the old 240z? I think this car looks cool no doubt, but it will change before it's released.

The current car and GT-Rs of the past have been pretty practical..you can def. everyday a GTR.. No way is Nissan going to take that out of the equation. That design is horrible anyway.
