If you could start over
What would you do differently? I ask because I sold my APS Twin Turbo G35 to pursue a business opportunity, now that the business squared away I'm looking to do another Twin Turbo G35 but this time around I know what I want from the beginning.
Of course the engine will be built from the start, I found that the rev limiter came very quick with twin turbos so I definitely want to raise that.. also a 5AT pumpkin swap is in order. I also found that installation made a huge deal in the reliability of the kit and the car period.. take it to a crappy shop and expect a crappy car, luckily Sharif will be 15 minutes from me now so that is not a problem.
Wondering if you guys have any other suggestions? I had about 8000 miles with the kit and 415whp started feeling sluggish to me.. I'd love to go with the JWT kit but I want more than 530whp so the APS Extreme kit sounds good.

There has been a signifigant gain in knowledge on what head studs and headgaskets to use as well. If you want to build without sleeves you will need to do 7/16" L19 head studs, or 1/2" studs to increase the amount of clamping force between the block and heads to avoid headlift. SVR Technologies (overzealous) also sells a bolt/stud kit that strengthens the head to avoid torqueing under high boost pressures.
If you are going to raise the rev limiter I wouls recommend changing either the full valvetrain or at least the springs and retainers.
This should get you around 600whp on pump gas with little worries.

personally... id buy a new car for modifications instead of my brand new Z that i did all that work too...
OR
I'd put in a different engine... RB or SR... depending on which kinda track use I felt like aiming the car for... would get great performance outta those engines with a lot less to worry about!

I was wondering why this old thread got dug up....
I hope people won't continue the VRT thread here.
