Your best bet will be to go with a dedicated track pad and use the Ultimates on the street where they belong. The EBC RedStuff Ceramic are marginally better, and David and Gary both have had good luck with Cobalt, but both will also tell you for a good time a dedicated set of pads for the track would be your best bet. Otherwise that kit looks badass and I can't wait to help you install it
As far as bedding goes, the method Z1 posted is the same I have done with all my pads and works well, just remember to not come to a complete stop while doing it and don't activate the ABS. Mike Kojiima has another method as well that I use while at the track if the pads are new, but most people don't go for it. Let me know when you want to do this and I'll be happy to come on down, or you can bring it to my place, I've got a full set of tools and a nice garage to do the work in. See ya when you're back,
Will

1 - The Axxis Ultimate is a good, high torque pad for the street, but it will fade at the track. It'll even fade in the full 13" StopTech BBK on a light-braking track (I tried it once at La Junta just for grins, and it faded towards the end of the day). Like Will says, I would recommend finding a good track pad to swap to for events. The Hawk Blue that's been mentioned is a good pad, but it will absolutely tear up your rotors when cold, so if you'll be swapping out at home before a track day and then driving to/from the track on the track pads, I would recommend a pad that's easier on your rotors but still has high torque...something more like the Cobalt Friction Spec VR (or even the GT Sport for lighter use). Just be aware that Cobalt Friction can take a while to fulfill orders, so you'll want to call them to place your order long before you actually need the pad in-hand. In addition to the advice from StopTech, I would also suggest you call Dave Zeckhausen (www.zeckhausen.com). I think you'll find him to be very helpful in discussing your needs and options.
2 - The biggest impact component that the StopTech Stage II kit has, in my opinion, are the lines. These are what will give you the biggest improvement in pedal feel. So even if, for some reason, you decide not to get the full kit, you'll at least want to upgrade to the lines. Just be aware that the install process for these is messy with a capital M!
3 - The Motul fluid is an excellent track fluid that will hold up nicely. However, it has been known to absorb water from the air more quickly than other fluids, which lowers it's effective boiling point more quickly. This isn't a reason not to use it, but it will require bleeding/flushing a bit more often if you find yourself relying on it frequently for heavy track use. And if you do decide to get a dedicated track pad, this is something you can do when you're swapping out the pads before a track day, so it's not that big of a deal. Plus this is great bonding time with your wife, when you have her come out to the garage to work the brake pedal as part of the process (my wife has almost got this down to a science)!
As always, good luck with your decision. Hope to see you at the track again soon! Hurry back from 'over there'.

LOL Thanks for all this info. Think I will have a track & street pad. Might have to wait till after the UTEC install and tuned. I also like the wife/husband break bonding part. I like the way you think with that. So what pad do you recommend with the ST slotted rotors?
BTW: I should be home Mid-Sept and back at the track shortly after that!!!

Other options to consider for the track are Cobalt Friction Spec VR up front and GT Sport in the back, or potentially a combination of Carbotech Panther XP 8 and 9. Between these options, I would go with the Cobalts.
One challenge when dealing with the OEM non-Brembos is the small number of pad options available…there just aren't many manufacturers that press their hard-core racing compounds in those pad shapes.

Thanks for the info Gary! Don't know if I can order them before I get back. I want to get the UTEC as well. I also need to get a helmet. I just remembered! Don't think the wife is going to go for everything. We'll see.

Really, it looks like a good choice for your brakes, and I'd be happy to lend a hand with the install if you'd like. Tell Ada "hi" for me, and let her know the baby and Becckie are doing well. I can't wait to go on a fall drive up in the mountains and check out your car when the UTEC, brakes, and everything else is done. Should make for some good lap times too. Take it easy,

Im thinking about getting this kit, My brakes are squiking. I have the HPS hawk pads, but sometime one or more squike when i lightly brake. This looks like a great upgrade for the price.
