Silver350ZAZ,
Pros.
1. Open air driving experience.
2. Great car for nice weather location.
3. I regret not getting one in the first place ( i got the base).
Waiting for the next model to get the convertible. When is it coming out????
Cons.
1. Must have a garage to park (which I didn't have at the time I bought my car).

help, please. I need some detailed responses . I already own an s2000, so I've experienced the open air feeling and all that for the last 2 and a half years. I'm looking for detailed, specific responses.
I'm selling the S2000, simply because it has 27,000 miles on it and thats when I sell my cars, regardless of how much I love it. The S2000 is a great car, but I could still put together a Top 5 and Worst 5 about it. Doesn't mean it was a bad car. Same for Z.
I would like some specifics about what you like and dislike about the car. No car is perfect and I don't expect the Z to be.
Thanks,

here are the pros and cons I noticed having driven both the s2k and the 350z.
Pros 350z:
The z is roomier inside.
more low down power( the z is more like a muscle car I think)
dials are more attractive imo ( I never got into the whole digital tach thing)
Cons 350z:
Nissan Service Sucks

Tire feathering problems (re-occuring problem)
No big red start button like on the s2k ( that thing was cool)
I don't know if this is a pro or a con, but I get a lot more attention in my z. It seems everytime I stop at gas station someone is asking me about it. I think that is partly due to the color though (lemans sunset).

Thanks,
1. Much much much much more TORQUE!

2. A lot more roomier inside.
3. The car felt bigger and more stable.
4. One of the most beautiful distinctive looking roadsters on the road.
5. Did I mention TORQUE???
Top 5 cons:
1. Not as nimble as the Miata (fixed that with new wheels and suspension).
2. Premium gas.
3. People stop me all the time to ask me about the car. (I am kinda antisocial, so its a con for me
)4. The doors are a bit too high for you to rest your arm on them and out the window when you are driving topless. On the other hand, doing 110mph topless doesn't seem scary at all (as it did in the Miata... )
5. My wallet is empty. Modding a Z is ADDICTIVE!!! Make sure you have a good budget and reconsider your rule of dropping cars after 27K miles. This one is a keeper for me!!!!

I upgraded from an S2000 to a 350Z coupe, here's my list:
Pros:
1) Engine - Love the torque, love the baritone exhaust note.
2) Interior - Although materials aren't the best the styling is sweet. All controls easily fall to hand, and nothing else is like it.
3) Styling - Love the rear fender flares, the door handles, etc.
4) Amenities - The touring has almost everything I could ask for
5) Tranny - short throws..a little notchy but feels very direct and involved. Much easier to know if you have the right revs with this tranny than others I have used.
Cons:
1) Interior plastics quality (I feel this is the same as the S2k actually...both are disappointing).
2) Tire noise - quite a bit if your fronts are feathered.
3) Stereo - Bose is ok but I expected more.
4) Lack of cigarette lighter near the windshield (sounds stupid until you have to run an extension cable for your radar detector)
5) NNA has no regard for customer satisfaction whatsoever, and has no issues with screwing over tons of customers with feathered tires.
Still if I could do it all over again, i would definitely upgrade from an S2k to my 350Z. My S2k had more problems than my 350Z (neither has been that bad in my opinion). To me the 350Z is just a better daily driver and feels like a higher class of automobile. The S2k is more frisky and can be more fun out in the country (just bring oil!)

Pro and Con:
10K different between the Roaster and Coupe.
Seriously, Get the Roaster and you love it. In term of technical stuff, Coupe and Roaster are the same. Roaster look REALLY MEAN, GOOD with hood down. Also, you don't see much of Roaster compare to Coupe. Drive something that don't clash much.
Here are my cars:

See how good the roaster is? hehe...GO FOR IT

Sorry to hi jack your thread but i have a few questions too cause i too am considering buying a roaster
i am really concern about the top......right now it can be garage but it will be my daily driver and it will be driven all seasons.......rain or shine...no snow......how much damage is rain going to do on the top?

I've owned many convertibles, and the Z has the Cloth top similar to the BMW and Benz.....Not like most Vinyl ones and it has a glass rear window.....I've had my Z over a year and the top looks as new as the day I got it.........It is garage kept though.....Dave

Bubble,
Dam man!! Looking at your car makes me want to trade/sell my car and get the convertible.
Each time I see a roadster or when the weather is nice (most of the time here in SoCal), i feel pain not buying a roaster. I got the base and spend over 2k on the stereo. No more mods ( I was planning to get rims too).
Questions for you guys. I have about $10k left on my loan. Do you think financially, it is more wise to keep the car until the new model comes out (hopefully a convertible is available)? Or just sell the sucker to a private buyer and face the loss now?
My thinking is since I made a mistake, I should drive it about 3-4 years and hopefully sell it for about $14 k and use that money for a new car. Any comments?
Btw, I have an '04 (bought it in Mar '04) and has 10k miles.

You can hear people whispering outside the car even with the top up. Thats my only gripe is the outside noise, next time I get a convertible it will be a hardtop one. Doesn't bother me now since I have a second car but when it was my only vehicle it was annoying.
