Grand Touring only comes as a Roadster I have one on order with three a head of me. Nissan has not released a price as of yet but it looks like it will be about $2500-$3500 more than a Touring model with 18" wheels. First week in Jan. we will know for sure.

You can't do a build on the Grand Touring yet. First week in Jan, this from the Nissan corp. We will see if it's true or not.

My guess is that some of the weight comes from the 18s which, on the '04 Touring was an option

That much weight really doesn't matter! I could see if someone was in pro racing or whatever but really, 120 pounds is like another person sitting in a passenger seat. Or a 280 lb driver.
Sorry, but all issues about weight gets a little overkill. When you're goin' 80+ doesn't really matter---the car will do it and it is fun!

However, someone made a good point in this thread. It is probably partly due to the 18' wheels that come standard on the Grand Touring. The curb weight they give for the Touring Roadster is 120 lbs lighter than the Grand Touring Roadster, but that is the Touring's weight with the 17" wheel.
I wonder how much more the 18" weigh than the 17".

The Z Touring Roadster is about 600 lbs heavier than the S2000, so proportionally you'd think that anone over 120 lbs. would make a noticeable difference when driving in the passenger seat of a Z.
I just ordered my Z so I can't speak from experience on this, juit theory.
