Upside:

1) There cool looking (you can only get them in the black, silver and sunset roadsters, the other colors come with regular leather seats)
2) When driving with the top down, air will actually blow out of them to keep your back dry. Works really good, have yet to have a wet shirt after driving a long time with the top down on a warm day....

I wouldn't base your decisions on seats tho... Test drive both of them back to back, see which one puts the biggest grin on your face... I can gurentee you it will be the Roadster .... Only thing is I wouldnt recommend the Roadster if its your only car.. Although there are some on here that use it as there only car.... So its something you have to decide for yourself...

Good Luck

I got them in my silverstone roadster and love them. I was scared when I ordered the car because I had never seen the seats before and wasn't sure how the orange was going to look with the silverstone. Now that the car came in, I can't imagine having any other seats. The way they ventilate air to your back is really nice too!

I'm surprised other manufacturers haven't adopted the net seats. My dad has a 993 convertible with black leather seats, and on a hot sunny day my back is drenched after a drive.

With the net seats, its like riding a motorcylce, the faster you go, the cooler you get.

so on cold cold days and with the top down does it get cold air through the vented-seats? I like to put the top down in the winter too sometimes. Does it get too cold?

Hahaha, it doesn't get cold in LA! As long as the sun is shining and the temperature is above freezing (mid to high 30's) the top can go down.

Its actually the opposite I found. On a cool day, with the heater blowing on full, the hot air from the footwell goes under the seat and up the back.

I was nervous about the vented seats too when I ordered the car - hadn't seen them. Had the car for two weeks now - still a bit on the cool side in Philly, but have had the top down alot. The vented seats rock! I couldn't be happier. GO FOR IT. You'll be pleasantly suprised.
