Default cleaning solutions for the top?

I know I have asked this before but spring is here. I need to protect and clean the top. Any suggestions?

I have always used FORMULA 2 Cleaner/Protectant from...
http://www.protectiveproductscorp.com/

It cleans, protects, and will darken your top (from greyish to black) which we super black owners should love (I do!). It's a spray and a little goes a long way. No need to worry about applying it unevenly, however I apply accross the top, section by section with a microfiber cloth (soak cloth) just to make sure I cover it properly. First results are quite good, as you do this 2 - 5 times (over time) you will notice how your top loves this stuff, and you will like your new top's black color (when I traded my 04 Z in, the sales people loved how my 04 ragtop looked compared to their tops on the lot. My new 05 ragtop is just starting to look like that 04 top! - And Not sure why you are waiting for spring to use something on your ragtop, I put this on mine year round.

I also use that product on All the interior (NOT THE DOORS) which makes the car look nicely black inside as well. Stuff is not at all greasy/oily so full dash/wheel, and between the seats, and the full back area (behind seats) all look a very natural black. Beats the hell out of that grey dry look if you do nothing... I would not attempt anything on our stock door panels as the doors material will most likely make anything look blotchy (my new Z doors will be black leather wraped one day...).

BTW: If you read my Perfect Detail Polish Post awhile back (search for it), you should altready know about that stuff and their Prestige Polish, and their leather cleaner to use on burnt orange seats. I Know a few other members are now using all these products I've spoke of, with their own great results.

Have Fun - Netman

I did not realize we could use this on the top. I use it just about everywhere else, and it does a great job. I will have to try it. Thanks!

From the PPC web site:
Primary uses - rubber, leather, vinyl, wood finishes, plastics, fiberglass, painted surfaces, etc.
Secondary uses - tires, leather upholstery, convertible tops, etc., etc.

M - Works great for the roadsters dark tops.
Expect it will make your blue top richer looking.

Will be getting to some MD Z club events, hope to Z ya.

You know, when I aw your '04 at Passport, I wondered why the top actually seemed to sparkle in the sun. This explains it.

Yeah, I'm going to try to do as many MD Z events as I can. It seems to be a great group of folks.

There may be distributors in your area, but I don't think it's available in stores. Call 'em and they'll let you know if there's a distributor in your area.

Nope.
Need to contact Dean Bibler at 1-888-772-1277
PPC will then ship your order to your door by UPS.

Ordering Note: When you buy 12 or more 'units' you receive 30% off on an entire order. Ordering 12 bottles of Perfect Detail, two Prestige Polish, two Formula 2, and two Just for Leather bottles will set you up for awhile. Also Dean mentioned to me that after March he will need to raise prices as his chemical products costs are increasing.

Read my original post about PPC for details/pics if interested:

Oops. I didn't realize you were in Maryland, too. Just got off the phone with Dean, they're actually looking for some independently-owned places (they eschew big franchise places) to distribute out here. For now, like netman said, give 'em a call. Dean's actually fun to talk with.

Guess I should have mentioned the cost of the Formula 2.
His website lists an 18oz bottle of Formula 2 for $9.00 dollars each.
And if you order 12 of anything (combo of stuff) figure 30% off entire order.

Just finished fully detailing my car again today, inside and out. If it was'nt raining would be able to take and post some new pictures. Pictures in a garage (even a well lit one) are not quite the same as sunshine photos. Guess this web site will have to do for now..
