Default Creeking noise coming from behind driver's seat

I have a 2005 Roadster and I've recently noticed a creeking noise behind me. It's coming from either behind the seat, or under the roof cover. It happens regardless of the roof being up or down. Usually happens when I pull in or out of uneven drive ways, parking lots, etc. sounds like maybe plastic or rubber rubbing together.

Any ideas?

Check the thread called Roadster rattles, there was a comment in there about a door pin causing noises.

Is your seat all the way back rubbing the roll bars?

my 03 coupe had so many creaks, squeaks, and rattles.. i thought it was put together with lego's. 04 isn't so bad tho. Just an annoying rattle from power connector and rear view windshield... hella rattle in there but hope its fixed today at the dealer.

hmm, my seat IS touching the roll bar. I'll have to move it forward and take it for a spin. Just might be it... If so, I'll have to live with it. I'm 6'1" so I need all the room I can get.

I had this weird noise comming from my trunk. Then I realized I had put a hooker in there.

Funny thing is the noise has stopped.

You will want to watch that if your seat is rubbing the rollbar. I find that if mine get close, not only do I have to worry about it rubbing, but I also have to watch the fine dust buildup, which is a pain to clean off.

Well, I moved my seat up so it didn't touch the roll bar, but the noise continues. I don't think it's the little steel pin on the door that mates with the frame, but I'll cover that tonight and give it a try.

I'm almost convinced it's coming from under the roof cover, or maybe the little wind deflector?

still can't find where this noise is coming from? I don't want to take it to the dealer just yet because they'll want to test drive it and I just passed 1100 KM's.

Sound like a block of Styrofoam that is being slightly stressed? Mine too. Took out the subwoofer and put it back. Noise has been gone since (8months). Hope this helps.

Yes. That's exactly what it sounds like. I even drove around with my roof cover open a little but the creaking was still there.

Dude, if this works I'm buying you a beer. This creaking noise has been driving me nuts for weeks.

Was it easy to remove the sub? Any suggestions or hints?

Yeah but don't remember for sure the technique. Go to the audio forum and do a search on how to remove/replace the sub. Good luck. Oh, and I more of a gin&tonic guy. Give the beer to my wife!

Hey, thanks for the info. I've done a search but hasn't come up with some good info. Looks like i just have to pull at the panels and they should pop off. Scary stuff.

Gin and Tonic it is then

I removed my sub...takes less than 5 mins to do. Start at the top of the cub cover not the bottm.

While you are in there check out where the fuel pump is at. I want to build a sub box but don't want to loose any access to the fuel pump.

Hey, I removed it last night... piece of cake. I didn't really pay attention to any fuel pump though. I didn't see your post until this morning. sorry.

maxwell72764, thanks so much for suggestion the solution. Since I don't travel to Arkansas it will have to be an e-gin and tonic. Thanks man.

it is probably because your seat is all the way back ... i'm 6'3 so my seat is back all the way and i notice it while turning and stuff like that .. sometimes it annoys me so much i move it up just enough to where you can't hear it .. once you get onto a highway or you aren't going to be turning like that i move it back because then it won't creak

It was the sub for more. I just torqued the screws a little, and poof the creaking was gone. Thanks again maxwell72764.

You sure it's not a brook, brooklet, rill, rivulet, stream or streamlet?
