Creeking noise coming from behind driver's seat

I have the most annoying rattle/chatter behind the divers seat which seems to be in the convertible boot compartment. And it only makes the chattering noise when top is up, and traveling at speeds under 50mph. Doesn't make much noise at freeway speeds. I have put the top partiallly up with the boot cover up and tightened all accessible nuts & bolts and cannot locate any loose brackets, but it definitely seems to be a component of the convertible, since the noise goes away when the top is down. ANY IDEAS!?
