Engine Break-in Opinions
I've got an '05 Perf. coming in soon and have been wondering about the engine break-in. Last 350 I had I followed the Nissan recommended method to the letter, but was talking with another 350 owner who mentioned that he "drove it like I stole it" during the break-in. He felt that it made for a stronger engine overall.I'd be interested in hearing from other members here as to thier preferred method and any details involving a non-Nissan break-in.Thanks guys.
I'm of the opinion that Nissan would have a better idea on the best way to break in your engine. Hearing about people breaking in an engine by "Driving it like it's stolen" makes me glad I don't buy used cars...

YUP
1200ish safe driving miles for me too
use the search function....this subject has had much debate....you will find tons of info.
BTW...I have the 350ZR, my wife the Quest....manual calls for the exact same break-in on both engines - true same engine, but tuned very differently....
Personally, I drove it very very hard right from the start - on break-in I ever do is for brakes.
